Estas foram as divisões dos filhos de Arão. Os filhos de Arão: Nadabe, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar.

Mas Nadabe e Abiú morreram antes de seu pai, e não tiveram filhos; portanto, Eleazar e Itamar serviram como sacerdotes.

Davi, com Zadoque, dos filhos de Eleazar, e Aimeleque, dos filhos de Itamar, os dividiu de acordo com a ordem do seu serviço.

Encontraram-se mais homens chefes entre os filhos de Eleazar do que entre os filhos de Itamar; e eles foram divididos assim: dos filhos de Eleazar havia dezesseis chefes de casas paternas; e dos filhos de Itamar, de acordo com suas casas paternas, oito.

Assim foram divididos imparcialmente por sorteio; pois havia príncipes do santuário e príncipes de Deus, tanto dos filhos de Eleazar quanto dos filhos de Itamar.

Semaías, filho de Natanael, o escriba, que era dos levitas, os registrou na presença do rei, dos príncipes, do sacerdote Zadoque, de Aimeleque, filho de Abiatar, e dos chefes das casas paternas dos sacerdotes e dos levitas; sendo escolhida uma casa paterna para Eleazar, e uma escolhida para Itamar.

A primeira sorte saiu para Jeoiaribe, a segunda para Jedaías,

a terceira para Harim, a quarta para Seorim,

a quinta para Malquias, a sexta para Miamim,
- 10
a sétima para Hacoz, a oitava para Abias,
- 11
a nona para Jesua, a décima para Secanias,
- 12
a décima primeira para Eliasibe, a décima segunda para Jaquim,
- 13
a décima terceira para Hupa, a décima quarta para Jesebeabe,
- 14
a décima quinta para Bilga, a décima sexta para Imer,
- 15
a décima sétima para Hezir, a décima oitava para Hapizes,
- 16
a décima nona para Petaías, a vigésima para Ezequiel,
- 17
a vigésima primeira para Jaquim, a vigésima segunda para Gamul,
- 18
a vigésima terceira para Delaías, e a vigésima quarta para Maazias.

Esta foi a ordem do seu serviço, para entrarem na casa do SENHOR de acordo com a ordenança que lhes foi dada por Arão, seu pai, conforme o SENHOR, o Deus de Israel, lhe havia ordenado.

Do restante dos filhos de Levi: dos filhos de Anrão, Subael; dos filhos de Subael, Jedias.

De Reabias: dos filhos de Reabias, Issias, o chefe.
- 22
Dos isaritas, Selomote; dos filhos de Selomote, Jaate.

Os filhos de Hebrom: Jerias, Amarias o segundo, Jaaziel o terceiro, e Jecameão o quarto.

Os filhos de Uziel: Mica; dos filhos de Mica, Samir.
- 25
O irmão de Mica: Issias; dos filhos de Issias, Zacarias.
- 26
Os filhos de Merari: Mali e Musi. O filho de Jaazias: Beno.
- 27
Os filhos de Merari por Jaazias: Beno, Soão, Zacur e Ibri.
- 28
De Mali: Eleazar, que não teve filhos.
- 29
De Quis, o filho de Quis: Jerameel.
- 30
Os filhos de Musi: Mali, Éder e Jerimote. Estes foram os filhos dos levitas segundo as suas casas paternas.

Estes também lançaram sortes, assim como seus irmãos, os filhos de Arão, na presença do rei Davi, de Zadoque, de Aimeleque e dos chefes das casas paternas dos sacerdotes e dos levitas; as casas paternas do chefe, assim como as de seu irmão mais novo.

These were the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children; therefore Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests.

David, with Zadok of the sons of Eleazar and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, divided them according to their ordering in their service.

There were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar; and they were divided like this: of the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen, heads of fathers’ houses; and of the sons of Ithamar, according to their fathers’ houses, eight.

Thus they were divided impartially by drawing lots; for there were princes of the sanctuary and princes of God, both of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar.

Shemaiah the son of Nethanel the scribe, who was of the Levites, wrote them in the presence of the king, the princes, Zadok the priest, Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the priests and of the Levites; one fathers’ house being taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar.

Now the first lot came out to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,

the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,
- 9
the fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin,
- 10
the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,
- 11
the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,
- 12
the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,
- 13
the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab,
- 14
the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,
- 15
the seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Happizzez,
- 16
the nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezkel,
- 17
the twenty-first to Jachin, the twenty-second to Gamul,
- 18
the twenty-third to Delaiah, and the twenty-fourth to Maaziah.

This was their ordering in their service, to come into the LORD’s house according to the ordinance given to them by Aaron their father, as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded him.

Of the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, Shubael; of the sons of Shubael, Jehdeiah.

Of Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, Isshiah the chief.
- 22
Of the Izharites, Shelomoth; of the sons of Shelomoth, Jahath.
- 23
The sons of Hebron: Jeriah, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
- 24
The sons of Uzziel: Micah; of the sons of Micah, Shamir.
- 25
The brother of Micah: Isshiah; of the sons of Isshiah, Zechariah.
- 26
The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The son of Jaaziah: Beno.
- 27
The sons of Merari by Jaaziah: Beno, Shoham, Zaccur, and Ibri.
- 28
Of Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.
- 29
Of Kish, the son of Kish: Jerahmeel.
- 30
The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites after their fathers’ houses.
- 31
These likewise cast lots even as their brothers the sons of Aaron in the presence of David the king, Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the priests and of the Levites, the fathers’ households of the chief even as those of his younger brother.
