Ouçam esta palavra que o SENHOR falou contra vocês, filhos de Israel, contra toda a família que eu tirei da terra do Egito, dizendo:

“De todas as famílias da terra, eu escolhi apenas vocês. Portanto, eu os castigarei por todos os seus pecados.”
- 3
Andarão dois juntos, se não estiverem de acordo?
- 4
Rugirá o leão no bosque, quando não tem presa? O leão jovem ruge do seu covil, se não tiver apanhado nada?
- 5
Cairá um pássaro numa armadilha na terra, se não houver laço armado para ele? A armadilha dispara do chão, quando não há nada para apanhar?
- 6
Toca-se a trombeta na cidade, sem que o povo se assuste? Acontece algum mal a uma cidade, sem que o SENHOR o tenha feito?
- 7
Certamente o Senhor DEUS não fará coisa alguma, sem revelar o seu segredo aos seus servos, os profetas.
- 8
O leão rugiu. Quem não temerá? O Senhor DEUS falou. Quem pode deixar de profetizar?

Proclamem nos palácios de Asdode, e nos palácios na terra do Egito, e digam: “Reúnam-se nos montes de Samaria, e vejam que grande tumulto há nela, e que opressão há no meio deles.”

“De fato, eles não sabem fazer o que é certo”, diz o SENHOR, “aqueles que acumulam despojo e saque em seus palácios.”
- 11
Portanto, assim diz o Senhor DEUS: “Um adversário invadirá a terra; ele derrubará as suas fortalezas, e as suas fortificações serão saqueadas.”

Assim diz o SENHOR: “Assim como o pastor resgata da boca do leão duas pernas, ou um pedaço de orelha, assim serão resgatados os filhos de Israel que se sentam em Samaria no canto de um divã, e nas almofadas de seda de uma cama.”

“Ouçam, e testemunhem contra a casa de Jacó”, diz o Senhor DEUS, o Deus dos Exércitos.
- 14
“Pois no dia em que eu castigar Israel por suas transgressões, também castigarei os altares de Betel; e as pontas do altar serão cortadas, e cairão por terra.
- 15
Golpearei a casa de inverno junto com a casa de verão; e as casas de marfim perecerão, e as grandes casas chegarão ao fim,” diz o SENHOR.

Hear this word that the LORD has spoken against you, children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up out of the land of Egypt, saying:

“I have only chosen you of all the families of the earth. Therefore I will punish you for all of your sins.”

Do two walk together, unless they have agreed?
- 4
Will a lion roar in the thicket, when he has no prey? Does a young lion cry out of his den, if he has caught nothing?
- 5
Can a bird fall in a trap on the earth, where no snare is set for him? Does a snare spring up from the ground, when there is nothing to catch?
- 6
Does the trumpet alarm sound in a city, without the people being afraid? Does evil happen to a city, and the LORD hasn’t done it?
- 7
Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets.

The lion has roared. Who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken. Who can but prophesy?

Proclaim in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, “Assemble yourselves on the mountains of Samaria, and see what unrest is in her, and what oppression is among them.”

“Indeed they don’t know to do right,” says the LORD, “Who hoard plunder and loot in their palaces.”

Therefore the Lord GOD says: “An adversary will overrun the land; and he will pull down your strongholds, and your fortresses will be plundered.”

The LORD says: “As the shepherd rescues out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear, so shall the children of Israel be rescued who sit in Samaria on the corner of a couch, and on the silken cushions of a bed.”

“Listen, and testify against the house of Jacob,” says the Lord GOD, the God of Armies.
- 14
“For in the day that I visit the transgressions of Israel on him, I will also visit the altars of Bethel; and the horns of the altar will be cut off, and fall to the ground.
- 15
I will strike the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory will perish, and the great houses will have an end,” says the LORD.
