Além disso, a palavra do SENHOR veio a mim, dizendo:

“Você, filho do homem, você a julgará? Você julgará a cidade sanguinária? Então faça com que ela conheça todas as suas abominações.

Você dirá: 'Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: “Uma cidade que derrama sangue no meio de si mesma, para que o seu tempo chegue, e que faz ídolos contra si mesma para se contaminar!

Você se tornou culpada pelo sangue que derramou, e está contaminada pelos ídolos que fez! Você fez com que os seus dias se aproximassem, e chegou ao fim dos seus anos. Portanto, eu fiz de você um opróbrio para as nações, e objeto de zombaria para todos os países.

Os que estão perto e os que estão longe de você zombarão de você, ó cidade de má fama, cheia de tumulto.

“'“Eis que os príncipes de Israel, cada um segundo o seu poder, estiveram em você para derramar sangue.
- 7
Em você eles trataram pai e mãe com desprezo. No seu meio eles oprimiram o estrangeiro. Em você eles prejudicaram o órfão e a viúva.
- 8
Você desprezou as minhas coisas santas, e profanou os meus sábados.
- 9
Homens caluniadores estiveram em você para derramar sangue. Em você eles comeram nos montes. Eles cometeram atos de lascívia no seu meio.

Em você eles descobriram a nudez de seus pais. Em você eles violaram aquela que estava imunda em sua impureza.
- 11
Um cometeu abominação com a mulher do seu próximo, e outro contaminou lascivamente a sua nora. Outro em você violou a sua irmã, filha do seu pai.
- 12
Em você eles aceitaram subornos para derramar sangue. Você cobrou juros e usura, e obteve lucros gananciosos dos seus próximos por meio de opressão, e se esqueceu de mim”, diz o Senhor DEUS.

“'“Eis que, portanto, bati as minhas mãos contra o lucro desonesto que você obteve, e contra o sangue que foi derramado no seu meio.
- 14
Poderá o seu coração suportar, ou poderão as suas mãos ser fortes, nos dias em que eu lidar com você? Eu, o SENHOR, falei isso, e o farei.
- 15
Eu a espalharei entre as nações, e a dispersarei pelos países. Eu expurgarei a sua imundície de você.
- 16
Você será profanada em si mesma à vista das nações. Então você saberá que eu sou o SENHOR.”'”

A palavra do SENHOR veio a mim, dizendo:
- 18
“Filho do homem, a casa de Israel se tornou escória para mim. Todos eles são bronze, estanho, ferro e chumbo no meio da fornalha. Eles são a escória da prata.
- 19
Portanto, assim diz o Senhor DEUS: 'Como todos vocês se tornaram escória, portanto, eis que eu os ajuntarei no meio de Jerusalém.
- 20
Assim como se ajunta prata, bronze, ferro, chumbo e estanho no meio da fornalha, para soprar o fogo sobre eles, a fim de derretê-los, assim eu os ajuntarei na minha ira e no meu furor, e os colocarei lá e os derreterei.
- 21
Sim, eu os ajuntarei, e soprarei sobre vocês com o fogo do meu furor, e vocês serão derretidos no meio dela.
- 22
Como a prata é derretida no meio da fornalha, assim vocês serão derretidos no meio dela; e vocês saberão que eu, o SENHOR, derramei o meu furor sobre vocês.'”

A palavra do SENHOR veio a mim, dizendo:
- 24
“Filho do homem, diga a ela: 'Você é uma terra que não foi purificada, nem recebeu chuva no dia da indignação.'
- 25
Há uma conspiração dos seus profetas no meio dela, como um leão que ruge, arrebatando a presa. Eles devoraram almas. Eles tomam tesouros e coisas preciosas. Eles multiplicaram as viúvas no meio dela.

Os seus sacerdotes violentaram a minha lei e profanaram as minhas coisas santas. Eles não fizeram distinção entre o santo e o comum, nem ensinaram os homens a discernir entre o imundo e o limpo, e esconderam os seus olhos dos meus sábados. Assim, eu sou profanado no meio deles.

Os seus príncipes no meio dela são como lobos que arrebatam a presa, para derramar sangue e destruir almas, a fim de obterem lucro desonesto.

Os seus profetas os rebocaram com cal, tendo visões falsas e adivinhando mentiras para eles, dizendo: 'Assim diz o Senhor DEUS', quando o SENHOR não havia falado.

O povo da terra tem praticado opressão e cometido roubo. Sim, eles têm afligido o pobre e o necessitado, e têm oprimido o estrangeiro injustamente.
- 30
“Eu busquei um homem entre eles que construísse o muro e se colocasse na brecha perante mim em favor da terra, para que eu não a destruísse; mas não encontrei ninguém.
- 31
Portanto, derramei a minha indignação sobre eles. Eu os consumi com o fogo do meu furor. Fiz com que o próprio caminho deles recaísse sobre as suas cabeças”, diz o Senhor DEUS.

Moreover the LORD’s word came to me, saying,

“You, son of man, will you judge? Will you judge the bloody city? Then cause her to know all her abominations.
- 3
You shall say, ‘The Lord GOD says: “A city that sheds blood within herself, that her time may come, and that makes idols against herself to defile her!
- 4
You have become guilty in your blood that you have shed, and are defiled in your idols which you have made! You have caused your days to draw near, and have come to the end of your years. Therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mocking to all the countries.

Those who are near and those who are far from you will mock you, you infamous one, full of tumult.

“‘“Behold, the princes of Israel, everyone according to his power, have been in you to shed blood.
- 7
In you have they treated father and mother with contempt. Among you they have oppressed the foreigner. In you they have wronged the fatherless and the widow.
- 8
You have despised my holy things, and have profaned my Sabbaths.
- 9
Slanderous men have been in you to shed blood. In you they have eaten on the mountains. They have committed lewdness among you.
- 10
In you have they uncovered their fathers’ nakedness. In you have they humbled her who was unclean in her impurity.
- 11
One has committed abomination with his neighbor’s wife, and another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law. Another in you has humbled his sister, his father’s daughter.
- 12
In you have they taken bribes to shed blood. You have taken interest and increase, and you have greedily gained of your neighbors by oppression, and have forgotten me,” says the Lord GOD.

“‘“Behold, therefore I have struck my hand at your dishonest gain which you have made, and at the blood which has been shed within you.
- 14
Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I will deal with you? I, the LORD, have spoken it, and will do it.
- 15
I will scatter you among the nations, and disperse you through the countries. I will purge your filthiness out of you.
- 16
You will be profaned in yourself in the sight of the nations. Then you will know that I am the LORD.”’”

The LORD’s word came to me, saying,
- 18
“Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to me. All of them are bronze, tin, iron, and lead in the middle of the furnace. They are the dross of silver.
- 19
Therefore the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the middle of Jerusalem.
- 20
As they gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the middle of the furnace, to blow the fire on it, to melt it, so I will gather you in my anger and in my wrath, and I will lay you there and melt you.
- 21
Yes, I will gather you, and blow on you with the fire of my wrath, and you will be melted in the middle of it.
- 22
As silver is melted in the middle of the furnace, so you will be melted in the middle of it; and you will know that I, the LORD, have poured out my wrath on you.’”

The LORD’s word came to me, saying,
- 24
“Son of man, tell her, ‘You are a land that is not cleansed nor rained on in the day of indignation.’
- 25
There is a conspiracy of her prophets within it, like a roaring lion ravening the prey. They have devoured souls. They take treasure and precious things. They have made many widows within it.
- 26
Her priests have done violence to my law and have profaned my holy things. They have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they caused men to discern between the unclean and the clean, and have hidden their eyes from my Sabbaths. So I am profaned among them.

Her princes within it are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood and to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain.
- 28
Her prophets have plastered for them with whitewash, seeing false visions, and divining lies to them, saying, ‘The Lord GOD says,’ when the LORD has not spoken.
- 29
The people of the land have used oppression and exercised robbery. Yes, they have troubled the poor and needy, and have oppressed the foreigner wrongfully.

“I sought for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.
- 31
Therefore I have poured out my indignation on them. I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath. I have brought their own way on their heads,” says the Lord GOD.
