Ah, a terra do roçar de asas, que está além dos rios da Etiópia;

que envia embaixadores pelo mar, em embarcações de papiro sobre as águas, dizendo: “Vão, mensageiros velozes, a uma nação alta e de pele lisa, a um povo temível desde o seu princípio em diante, uma nação que mede e pisoteia, cuja terra os rios dividem!”

Todos vocês, habitantes do mundo, e vocês, moradores da terra, quando um estandarte for erguido nas montanhas, olhem! Quando a trombeta for tocada, escutem!

Pois o SENHOR me disse: “Ficarei quieto, e olharei da minha habitação, como o calor resplandecente à luz do sol, como uma nuvem de orvalho no calor da colheita.”

Pois antes da colheita, quando a floração passar, e a flor se tornar uma uva amadurecendo, ele cortará os brotos com podadeiras, e cortará e removerá os ramos que se espalham.

Eles serão deixados juntos para as aves de rapina das montanhas, e para os animais da terra. As aves de rapina os comerão no verão, e todos os animais da terra os comerão no inverno.

Naquele tempo, um presente será trazido ao SENHOR dos Exércitos de um povo alto e de pele lisa, sim, de um povo temível desde o seu princípio em diante, uma nação que mede e pisoteia, cuja terra os rios dividem, ao lugar do nome do SENHOR dos Exércitos, o Monte Sião.

All you inhabitants of the world, and you dwellers on the earth, when a banner is lifted up on the mountains, look! When the trumpet is blown, listen!

For the LORD said to me, “I will be still, and I will see in my dwelling place, like clear heat in sunshine, like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.”

For before the harvest, when the blossom is over, and the flower becomes a ripening grape, he will cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and he will cut down and take away the spreading branches.

They will be left together for the ravenous birds of the mountains, and for the animals of the earth. The ravenous birds will eat them in the summer, and all the animals of the earth will eat them in the winter.

In that time, a present will be brought to the LORD of Armies from a people tall and smooth, even from a people awesome from their beginning onward, a nation that measures out and treads down, whose land the rivers divide, to the place of the name of the LORD of Armies, Mount Zion.
