Marcos 1

Marcos começa em disparada: nada de nascimento, só João no deserto, o batismo de Jesus, a provação entre as feras e logo a pregação na Galileia. No versículo 16 ele já chama Simão, André, Tiago e João das redes. Repare na rapidez das cenas e no peso da palavra "imediatamente".

Princípio do evangelho de Jesus Cristo, o Filho de Deus.

Como está escrito nos profetas, “Eis que, envio o meu mensageiro adiante da tua face, o qual preparará o teu caminho diante de ti:

a voz do que clama no deserto, ‘Preparai o caminho do Senhor! Endireitai as suas veredas!’”

João veio batizando no deserto e pregando o batismo de arrependimento para perdão de pecados.

Toda a província da Judeia e todos os habitantes de Jerusalém saíam a ter com ele. E eram batizados por ele no rio Jordão, confessando os seus pecados.

João vestia-se de pelos de camelo e usava um cinto de couro em volta da cintura. Ele comia gafanhotos e mel silvestre.

Ele pregava, dizendo: “Depois de mim vem aquele que é mais poderoso do que eu, do qual não sou digno de curvar-me e desatar a correia das suas sandálias.
8
Eu vos batizei em água, mas ele vos batizará no Espírito Santo.”

Naqueles dias, Jesus veio de Nazaré da Galileia e foi batizado por João no Jordão.

Logo ao sair da água, ele viu os céus se abrindo e o Espírito descendo sobre ele como uma pomba.

E uma voz veio dos céus: “Tu és o meu Filho amado, em quem me agrado.”

Imediatamente o Espírito o impeliu para o deserto.
13
Ele esteve lá no deserto quarenta dias, sendo tentado por Satanás. Ele estava com os animais selvagens; e os anjos o serviam.
14
Ora, depois que João foi preso, Jesus foi para a Galileia, pregando o evangelho do Reino de Deus,
15
e dizendo: “O tempo está cumprido, e o Reino de Deus está próximo! Arrependei-vos e crede no evangelho.”
16
Caminhando junto ao mar da Galileia, ele viu Simão e André, irmão de Simão, lançando a rede ao mar, pois eram pescadores.
17
Jesus lhes disse: “Vinde após mim, e eu farei de vós pescadores de homens.”
18
Imediatamente eles deixaram as suas redes e o seguiram.
19
Indo um pouco mais adiante dali, ele viu Tiago, filho de Zebedeu, e João, seu irmão, que também estavam no barco consertando as redes.
20
Imediatamente ele os chamou, e eles deixaram seu pai, Zebedeu, no barco com os empregados, e foram após ele.
21
Eles entraram em Cafarnaum, e logo no dia de sábado ele entrou na sinagoga e ensinava.
22
Eles se maravilhavam do seu ensino, pois ele os ensinava como quem tem autoridade, e não como os escribas.
23
Imediatamente havia na sinagoga deles um homem com um espírito imundo, e ele gritou,
24
dizendo: “Ah! Que temos nós contigo, Jesus Nazareno? Vieste para nos destruir? Eu sei quem tu és: o Santo de Deus!”
25
Jesus o repreendeu, dizendo: “Cala-te, e sai dele!”
26
O espírito imundo, convulsionando-o e clamando com grande voz, saiu dele.
27
Todos ficaram maravilhados, a ponto de perguntarem entre si, dizendo: “Que é isto? Um novo ensino? Pois com autoridade ele ordena até aos espíritos imundos, e eles lhe obedecem!”

A sua fama espalhou-se logo por toda parte, em toda a região da Galileia e seus arredores.

Imediatamente, ao saírem da sinagoga, foram à casa de Simão e André, com Tiago e João.
30
A sogra de Simão estava de cama com febre, e logo lhe falaram a respeito dela.
31
Ele se aproximou, tomou-a pela mão e a levantou. A febre a deixou imediatamente, e ela passou a servi-los.
32
À tarde, ao pôr do sol, trouxeram-lhe todos os enfermos e os endemoninhados.
33
Toda a cidade estava reunida à porta.
34
Ele curou muitos que estavam doentes de várias enfermidades e expulsou muitos demônios. Ele não permitia que os demônios falassem, porque o conheciam.
35
De madrugada, quando ainda estava escuro, ele se levantou, saiu e foi para um lugar deserto, e ali orava.
36
Simão e os que estavam com ele o procuraram.
37
Eles o encontraram e lhe disseram: “Todos estão te procurando.”
38
Ele lhes disse: “Vamos a outros lugares, às aldeias vizinhas, para que eu pregue lá também, pois foi para isso que eu vim.”
39
Ele foi pelas sinagogas deles em toda a Galileia, pregando e expulsando demônios.
40
Um leproso aproximou-se dele, rogando-lhe, ajoelhando-se diante dele, e dizendo-lhe: “Se quiseres, podes purificar-me.”
41
Movido de íntima compaixão, ele estendeu a mão, tocou-o e disse-lhe: “Eu quero. Sê purificado.”
42
Tendo ele dito isso, imediatamente a lepra o deixou e ele ficou purificado.
43
Ele o advertiu severamente e logo o despediu,
44
e disse-lhe: “Olha, não digas nada a ninguém, mas vai mostrar-te ao sacerdote e oferece pela tua purificação o que Moisés ordenou, para lhes servir de testemunho.”
45
Mas ele saiu e começou a proclamar muito o fato, e a espalhar a notícia, de modo que Jesus já não podia entrar publicamente numa cidade, mas ficava de fora, em lugares desertos. E de todas as partes as pessoas vinham a ele.

The beginning of the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

As it is written in the prophets, “Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you:

the voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of the Lord! Make his paths straight!’”

John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching the baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins.
5
All the country of Judea and all those of Jerusalem went out to him. They were baptized by him in the Jordan river, confessing their sins.
6
John was clothed with camel’s hair and a leather belt around his waist. He ate locusts and wild honey.
7
He preached, saying, “After me comes he who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and loosen.
8
I baptized you in water, but he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.”
9
In those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
10
Immediately coming up from the water, he saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.
11
A voice came out of the sky, “You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
12
Immediately the Spirit drove him out into the wilderness.
13
He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals; and the angels were serving him.
14
Now after John was taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Good News of God’s Kingdom,
15
and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and God’s Kingdom is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Good News.”
16
Passing along by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
17
Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you into fishers for men.”
18
Immediately they left their nets, and followed him.
19
Going on a little further from there, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets.
20
Immediately he called them, and they left their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.
21
They went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught.
22
They were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.
23
Immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,
24
saying, “Ha! What do we have to do with you, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Holy One of God!”
25
Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!”
26
The unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.
27
They were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!”
28
The report of him went out immediately everywhere into all the region of Galilee and its surrounding area.
29
Immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
30
Now Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and immediately they told him about her.
31
He came and took her by the hand and raised her up. The fever left her immediately, and she served them.
32
At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all who were sick and those who were possessed by demons.
33
All the city was gathered together at the door.
34
He healed many who were sick with various diseases and cast out many demons. He didn’t allow the demons to speak, because they knew him.
35
Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there.
36
Simon and those who were with him searched for him.
37
They found him and told him, “Everyone is looking for you.”
38
He said to them, “Let’s go elsewhere into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because I came out for this reason.”
39
He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out demons.
40
A leper came to him, begging him, kneeling down to him, and saying to him, “If you want to, you can make me clean.”
41
Being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, “I want to. Be made clean.”
42
When he had said this, immediately the leprosy departed from him and he was made clean.
43
He strictly warned him and immediately sent him out,
44
and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anybody, but go show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”
45
But he went out, and began to proclaim it much, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places. People came to him from everywhere.

Um sábado em Cafarnaum

Os versículos 21-34 comprimem um único dia: ensino na sinagoga, um espírito imundo silenciado, a sogra de Simão curada da febre e, ao pôr do sol, a cidade inteira reunida à porta.

Uma tensão é plantada cedo: depois de limpar o leproso, Jesus manda que ele se cale (v.44), mas o homem espalha tudo e obriga Jesus a ficar em lugares desertos. Fama e segredo já puxam em sentidos opostos.
