Marcos 2

Aqui começam cinco confrontos. Descem um paralítico pelo telhado aberto; Jesus perdoa seus pecados e os escribas murmuram blasfêmia. Depois vem Levi, o cobrador de impostos, o jantar com "pecadores", a pergunta sobre o jejum e as espigas colhidas no sábado.

Quando ele entrou novamente em Cafarnaum, após alguns dias, ouviu-se que ele estava em casa.

Imediatamente muitos se reuniram, de modo que não havia mais lugar, nem mesmo perto da porta; e ele lhes falava a palavra.

Vieram quatro pessoas, trazendo-lhe um paralítico.

Como não podiam aproximar-se dele por causa da multidão, removeram o telhado onde ele estava. Depois de o terem rompido, baixaram a maca em que o paralítico estava deitado.

Jesus, vendo a fé deles, disse ao paralítico: “Filho, os seus pecados estão perdoados.”

Mas estavam ali sentados alguns dos escribas, que arrazoavam em seus corações:

“Por que este homem fala blasfêmias assim? Quem pode perdoar pecados senão somente Deus?”

Imediatamente Jesus, percebendo em seu espírito que eles assim arrazoavam dentro de si mesmos, disse-lhes: “Por que vocês arrazoam estas coisas em seus corações?

Qual é mais fácil, dizer ao paralítico: ‘Os seus pecados estão perdoados’; ou dizer: ‘Levante-se, pegue a sua maca e ande’?
10
Mas, para que vocês saibam que o Filho do Homem tem autoridade na terra para perdoar pecados” — disse ao paralítico —

“Eu lhe digo: levante-se, pegue a sua maca e vá para a sua casa.”
12
Ele se levantou e, pegando imediatamente a maca, saiu na frente de todos eles, de modo que todos ficaram maravilhados e glorificaram a Deus, dizendo: “Nunca vimos nada como isso!”

Ele saiu novamente para a beira-mar. Toda a multidão vinha a ele, e ele os ensinava.

Ao passar, ele viu Levi, filho de Alfeu, sentado na coletoria de impostos. Ele lhe disse: “Siga-me.” E ele se levantou e o seguiu.
15
Estando ele reclinado à mesa na casa dele, muitos publicanos e pecadores sentaram-se com Jesus e seus discípulos, pois eram muitos, e eles o seguiam.

Os escribas e os fariseus, quando viram que ele estava comendo com os pecadores e publicanos, disseram aos seus discípulos: “Por que ele come e bebe com publicanos e pecadores?”

Quando Jesus ouviu isso, disse-lhes: “Os sãos não precisam de médico, mas sim os doentes. Eu não vim para chamar os justos, mas os pecadores ao arrependimento.”
18
Os discípulos de João e os fariseus estavam jejuando, e vieram e lhe perguntaram: “Por que os discípulos de João e os discípulos dos fariseus jejuam, mas os seus discípulos não jejuam?”
19
Jesus lhes disse: “Podem os amigos do noivo jejuar enquanto o noivo está com eles? Enquanto têm o noivo consigo, eles não podem jejuar.
20
Mas virão dias em que o noivo lhes será tirado, e então eles jejuarão naquele dia.
21
Ninguém costura um remendo de pano novo em uma roupa velha; do contrário, o remendo encolhe e a parte nova rasga a velha, e faz-se um buraco pior.
22
Ninguém põe vinho novo em odres velhos; do contrário, o vinho novo arrebentará os odres, e o vinho se derramará, e os odres serão destruídos; mas põe-se vinho novo em odres novos.”
23
Ele estava passando no dia de sábado pelas searas; e os seus discípulos começaram, enquanto caminhavam, a colher as espigas.
24
Os fariseus lhe disseram: “Veja, por que eles fazem o que não é lícito no dia de sábado?”
25
Ele lhes disse: “Vocês nunca leram o que Davi fez quando teve necessidade e sentiu fome — ele e os que estavam com ele?
26
Como ele entrou na casa de Deus, no tempo de Abiatar, o sumo sacerdote, e comeu os pães da proposição, que não é lícito comer senão aos sacerdotes, e deu também aos que estavam com ele?”
27
Ele lhes disse: “O sábado foi feito por causa do homem, e não o homem por causa do sábado.
28
Portanto, o Filho do Homem é senhor até mesmo do sábado.”

When he entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was heard that he was at home.
2
Immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even around the door; and he spoke the word to them.

Four people came, carrying a paralytic to him.
4
When they could not come near to him for the crowd, they removed the roof where he was. When they had broken it up, they let down the mat that the paralytic was lying on.
5
Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”
6
But there were some of the scribes sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,
7
“Why does this man speak blasphemies like that? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
8
Immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you reason these things in your hearts?
9
Which is easier, to tell the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven;’ or to say, ‘Arise, and take up your bed, and walk’?
10
But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” —he said to the paralytic—
11
“I tell you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your house.”
12
He arose, and immediately took up the mat and went out in front of them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”
13
He went out again by the seaside. All the multitude came to him, and he taught them.
14
As he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office. He said to him, “Follow me.” And he arose and followed him.
15
He was reclining at the table in his house, and many tax collectors and sinners sat down with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many, and they followed him.
16
The scribes and the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples, “Why is it that he eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?”
17
When Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
18
John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting, and they came and asked him, “Why do John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples don’t fast?”
19
Jesus said to them, “Can the groomsmen fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they can’t fast.
20
But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.
21
No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, or else the patch shrinks and the new tears away from the old, and a worse hole is made.
22
No one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the skins, and the wine pours out, and the skins will be destroyed; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins.”
23
He was going on the Sabbath day through the grain fields; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of grain.
24
The Pharisees said to him, “Behold, why do they do that which is not lawful on the Sabbath day?”
25
He said to them, “Did you never read what David did when he had need and was hungry—he, and those who were with him?
26
How he entered into God’s house at the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the show bread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and gave also to those who were with him?”
27
He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
28
Therefore the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”

Pano velho, vinho novo

Os versículos 21-22 trazem duas imagens curtas: o pano novo rasga a roupa velha, o vinho novo rompe os odres velhos. Explicam por que os discípulos não jejuam como os de João; o novo não se remenda sobre o velho.

Em seguida o debate do sábado se aprofunda, citando Davi que comeu os pães (v.25-26), antes do veredicto: "O sábado foi feito por causa do homem."
