Marcos 3

A oposição endurece depressa: Jesus cura uma mão atrofiada no sábado e logo os fariseus conspiram com os herodianos para destruí-lo. As multidões o apertam de todos os lados, e ele nomeia doze para estarem com ele e serem enviados.

Ele entrou novamente na sinagoga, e estava ali um homem que tinha a mão ressequida.

Eles o observavam, para ver se ele o curaria no sábado, a fim de poderem acusá-lo.

Ele disse ao homem que tinha a mão ressequida: “Levante-se.”

Ele lhes disse: “É lícito no sábado fazer o bem ou fazer o mal? Salvar uma vida ou matar?” Mas eles ficaram em silêncio.

Tendo olhado ao redor para eles com ira, entristecido com a dureza dos seus corações, disse ao homem: “Estenda a sua mão.” Ele a estendeu, e a sua mão foi restaurada tão saudável quanto a outra.

Os fariseus saíram e imediatamente conspiraram com os herodianos contra ele, sobre como poderiam destruí-lo.

Jesus retirou-se para o mar com os seus discípulos; e uma grande multidão o seguiu da Galileia, da Judeia,
8
de Jerusalém, da Idumeia, de além do Jordão, e os dos arredores de Tiro e Sidom. Uma grande multidão, ouvindo as grandes coisas que ele fazia, veio a ele.

Ele falou aos seus discípulos que um barquinho ficasse perto dele por causa da multidão, para que não o apertassem.
10
Pois ele havia curado a muitos, de modo que todos os que tinham doenças o apertavam para poderem tocá-lo.

Os espíritos imundos, sempre que o viam, prostravam-se diante dele e gritavam: “Tu és o Filho de Deus!”

Ele os advertia severamente para que não o tornassem conhecido.

Ele subiu ao monte e chamou a si os que ele quis, e eles foram até ele.
14
Ele nomeou doze, para que estivessem com ele, e para que pudesse enviá-los a pregar
15
e a ter autoridade para curar enfermidades e para expulsar demônios:

Simão (a quem deu o nome de Pedro);
17
Tiago, filho de Zebedeu; e João, irmão de Tiago (aos quais chamou Boanerges, que significa Filhos do Trovão);
18
André; Filipe; Bartolomeu; Mateus; Tomé; Tiago, filho de Alfeu; Tadeu; Simão, o Zelote;
19
e Judas Iscariotes, que também o traiu. Então ele entrou em uma casa.
20
A multidão se reuniu novamente, de modo que eles não podiam nem mesmo comer pão.
21
Quando os seus amigos ouviram isso, saíram para prendê-lo; pois diziam: “Ele está louco.”
22
Os escribas que desceram de Jerusalém diziam: “Ele tem Belzebu”, e: “Pelo príncipe dos demônios ele expulsa os demônios.”

Ele os chamou e lhes disse por parábolas: “Como pode Satanás expulsar Satanás?

Se um reino estiver dividido contra si mesmo, tal reino não pode subsistir.
25
Se uma casa estiver dividida contra si mesma, tal casa não pode subsistir.
26
Se Satanás se levantou contra si mesmo, e está dividido, ele não pode subsistir, mas chegou ao fim.
27
Mas ninguém pode entrar na casa do homem forte para saquear, a menos que primeiro amarre o homem forte; então ele saqueará a sua casa.
28
“Com toda a certeza eu lhes digo: todos os pecados dos descendentes dos homens serão perdoados, incluindo as suas blasfêmias com as quais blasfemarem;
29
mas quem blasfemar contra o Espírito Santo nunca terá perdão, mas está sujeito à condenação eterna.”
30
—porque eles diziam: “Ele tem um espírito imundo.”

Sua mãe e seus irmãos chegaram e, ficando do lado de fora, mandaram chamá-lo.
32
Uma multidão estava sentada ao redor dele, e lhe disseram: “Eis que a sua mãe, os seus irmãos e as suas irmãs estão lá fora procurando por você.”
33
Ele lhes respondeu: “Quem são a minha mãe e os meus irmãos?”
34
Olhando ao redor para os que estavam sentados à sua volta, disse: “Eis aqui a minha mãe e os meus irmãos!
35
Pois quem faz a vontade de Deus, este é meu irmão, minha irmã e minha mãe.”

He entered again into the synagogue, and there was a man there whose hand was withered.

They watched him, whether he would heal him on the Sabbath day, that they might accuse him.

He said to the man whose hand was withered, “Stand up.”
4
He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath day to do good or to do harm? To save a life or to kill?” But they were silent.
5
When he had looked around at them with anger, being grieved at the hardening of their hearts, he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored as healthy as the other.
6
The Pharisees went out, and immediately conspired with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.
7
Jesus withdrew to the sea with his disciples; and a great multitude followed him from Galilee, from Judea,
8
from Jerusalem, from Idumaea, beyond the Jordan, and those from around Tyre and Sidon. A great multitude, hearing what great things he did, came to him.
9
He spoke to his disciples that a little boat should stay near him because of the crowd, so that they wouldn’t press on him.
10
For he had healed many, so that as many as had diseases pressed on him that they might touch him.
11
The unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, fell down before him and cried, “You are the Son of God!”
12
He sternly warned them that they should not make him known.
13
He went up into the mountain and called to himself those whom he wanted, and they went to him.
14
He appointed twelve, that they might be with him, and that he might send them out to preach
15
and to have authority to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons:
16
Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter);
17
James the son of Zebedee; and John, the brother of James, (whom he called Boanerges, which means, Sons of Thunder);
18
Andrew; Philip; Bartholomew; Matthew; Thomas; James, the son of Alphaeus; Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot;
19
and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. Then he came into a house.
20
The multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.
21
When his friends heard it, they went out to seize him; for they said, “He is insane.”
22
The scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebul,” and, “By the prince of the demons he casts out the demons.”
23
He summoned them and said to them in parables, “How can Satan cast out Satan?
24
If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25
If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
26
If Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he can’t stand, but has an end.
27
But no one can enter into the house of the strong man to plunder unless he first binds the strong man; then he will plunder his house.
28
“Most certainly I tell you, all sins of the descendants of man will be forgiven, including their blasphemies with which they may blaspheme;
29
but whoever may blaspheme against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation.”
30
—because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”
31
His mother and his brothers came, and standing outside, they sent to him, calling him.
32
A multitude was sitting around him, and they told him, “Behold, your mother, your brothers, and your sisters are outside looking for you.”
33
He answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?”
34
Looking around at those who sat around him, he said, “Behold, my mother and my brothers!
35
For whoever does the will of God is my brother, my sister, and mother.”

Quem de fato é dele

O capítulo encaixa dois ataques. Sua própria família diz que ele está fora de si (v.21); os escribas de Jerusalém dizem que expulsa demônios por Belzebu (v.22). Jesus responde com a lógica do reino dividido e o dito do homem forte.

Encerra redefinindo o parentesco: avisado de que mãe e irmãos esperam do lado de fora, ele aponta para os que estão sentados ao seu redor e diz que quem faz a vontade de Deus é seu irmão, irmã e mãe (v.34-35).
