Quando eu quis curar Israel, então a iniquidade de Efraim foi descoberta, e também a maldade de Samaria; pois eles praticam a falsidade, e o ladrão entra, e o bando de salteadores devasta do lado de fora.

Eles não consideram em seus corações que eu me lembro de toda a sua maldade. Agora as suas próprias obras os envolveram. Elas estão diante da minha face.

Eles alegram o rei com a sua maldade, e os príncipes com as suas mentiras.

Todos eles são adúlteros. Eles estão queimando como um forno que o padeiro para de atiçar, desde a sova da massa, até que fique levedada.

No dia do nosso rei, os príncipes ficaram doentes com o calor do vinho. Ele deu as mãos aos zombadores.

Pois eles prepararam o seu coração como um forno, enquanto ficam de tocaia. A sua ira fumega a noite toda. Pela manhã, queima como um fogo em chamas.

Todos eles estão quentes como um forno, e devoram os seus juízes. Todos os seus reis caíram. Não há ninguém entre eles que clame a mim.

Efraim se mistura entre as nações. Efraim é um bolo que não foi virado.

Estrangeiros devoraram a sua força, e ele não percebe isso. De fato, cabelos brancos estão espalhados por ele, e ele não percebe isso.

O orgulho de Israel testifica na sua face; contudo, eles não voltaram para o SENHOR, seu Deus, nem o buscaram, apesar de tudo isso.

“Efraim é como uma pomba facilmente enganada, sem entendimento. Eles clamam ao Egito. Eles vão para a Assíria.

Quando eles forem, estenderei a minha rede sobre eles. Eu os derrubarei como as aves do céu. Eu os castigarei, conforme a sua congregação tem ouvido.

Ai deles! Pois eles se desviaram de mim. Destruição para eles! Pois eles transgrediram contra mim. Embora eu quisesse redimi-los, ainda assim falaram mentiras contra mim.

Eles não clamaram a mim com o seu coração, mas uivam em suas camas. Eles se reúnem por causa de trigo e vinho novo. Eles se afastam de mim.

Embora eu tenha ensinado e fortalecido os seus braços, ainda assim tramam o mal contra mim.

Eles voltam, mas não para o Altíssimo. Eles são como um arco defeituoso. Os seus príncipes cairão à espada por causa da fúria da sua língua. Isso será motivo de zombaria para eles na terra do Egito.

When I would heal Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim is uncovered, also the wickedness of Samaria; for they commit falsehood, and the thief enters in, and the gang of robbers ravages outside.

They don’t consider in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness. Now their own deeds have engulfed them. They are before my face.

They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.

They are all adulterers. They are burning like an oven that the baker stops stirring, from the kneading of the dough, until it is leavened.

On the day of our king, the princes made themselves sick with the heat of wine. He joined his hand with mockers.
- 6
For they have prepared their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait. Their anger smolders all night. In the morning it burns as a flaming fire.

They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges. All their kings have fallen. There is no one among them who calls to me.

Ephraim mixes himself among the nations. Ephraim is a pancake not turned over.

Strangers have devoured his strength, and he doesn’t realize it. Indeed, gray hairs are here and there on him, and he doesn’t realize it.

The pride of Israel testifies to his face; yet they haven’t returned to the LORD their God, nor sought him, for all this.

“Ephraim is like an easily deceived dove, without understanding. They call to Egypt. They go to Assyria.
- 12
When they go, I will spread my net on them. I will bring them down like the birds of the sky. I will chastise them, as their congregation has heard.

Woe to them! For they have wandered from me. Destruction to them! For they have trespassed against me. Though I would redeem them, yet they have spoken lies against me.
- 14
They haven’t cried to me with their heart, but they howl on their beds. They assemble themselves for grain and new wine. They turn away from me.
- 15
Though I have taught and strengthened their arms, yet they plot evil against me.
- 16
They return, but not to the Most High. They are like a faulty bow. Their princes will fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue. This will be their derision in the land of Egypt.
