O SENHOR disse a Moisés: “Talhe duas tábuas de pedra como as primeiras. Eu escreverei nas tábuas as palavras que estavam nas primeiras tábuas, que você quebrou.
- 2
Esteja pronto pela manhã, e suba pela manhã ao monte Sinai, e apresente-se ali a mim no topo do monte.
- 3
Ninguém deverá subir com você, nem ser visto em parte alguma do monte. Não deixe que os rebanhos de ovelhas ou de gado pastem em frente a esse monte.”

Ele talhou duas tábuas de pedra como as primeiras; então Moisés levantou-se de madrugada, e subiu ao monte Sinai, como o SENHOR lhe havia ordenado, e levou em sua mão duas tábuas de pedra.

O SENHOR desceu na nuvem, e esteve ali com ele, e proclamou o nome do SENHOR .

O SENHOR passou diante dele, e proclamou: “O SENHOR! O SENHOR, Deus misericordioso e gracioso, tardio em irar-se e abundante em bondade e verdade,
- 7
que guarda a bondade para milhares, que perdoa a iniquidade, a desobediência e o pecado; e que de maneira nenhuma terá por inocente o culpado, visitando a iniquidade dos pais nos filhos, e nos filhos dos filhos, na terceira e na quarta geração.”

Moisés apressou-se, inclinou a cabeça para a terra e adorou.

Ele disse: “Se agora encontrei favor aos seus olhos, Senhor, por favor, que o Senhor vá no meio de nós, mesmo sendo este um povo de dura cerviz; perdoe a nossa iniquidade e o nosso pecado, e tome-nos por sua herança.”

Ele disse: “Eis que faço uma aliança: diante de todo o seu povo farei maravilhas, como nunca foram feitas em toda a terra, nem em nação alguma; e todo o povo no meio do qual você está verá a obra do SENHOR; pois é uma coisa tremenda o que faço com você.
- 11
Guarde o que eu lhe ordeno hoje. Eis que expulsarei de diante de você o amorreu, o cananeu, o heteu, o ferezeu, o heveu e o jebuseu.
- 12
Tenha cuidado, para não fazer aliança com os habitantes da terra para onde você vai, para que não seja um laço no meio de vocês;
- 13
mas vocês derrubarão os seus altares, quebrarão em pedaços as suas colunas sagradas, e cortarão os seus postes de Aserá;
- 14
pois você não adorará a nenhum outro deus; porque o SENHOR, cujo nome é Zeloso, é um Deus zeloso.
- 15
“Não faça aliança com os habitantes da terra, para que eles não se prostituam após os seus deuses, e sacrifiquem aos seus deuses, e alguém o convide e você coma do seu sacrifício;
- 16
e você tome das filhas deles para os seus filhos, e as filhas deles se prostituam após os seus deuses, e façam com que os seus filhos se prostituam após os deuses delas.

“Você não fará para si ídolos de fundição.
- 18
“Você guardará a festa dos pães asmos. Sete dias você comerá pães asmos, como eu lhe ordenei, no tempo determinado no mês de abibe; pois no mês de abibe você saiu do Egito.
- 19
“Tudo o que abre a madre é meu; e todo o seu rebanho que for macho, o primogênito de vacas e ovelhas.
- 20
Você resgatará o primogênito de um jumento com um cordeiro. Se você não o resgatar, então quebrará o seu pescoço. Você resgatará todos os primogênitos dos seus filhos. Ninguém aparecerá diante de mim de mãos vazias.

“Seis dias você trabalhará, mas no sétimo dia descansará: na época da aragem e na colheita você descansará.
- 22
“Você observará a festa das semanas com as primícias da colheita do trigo, e a festa da colheita no fim do ano.
- 23
Três vezes no ano todos os seus homens aparecerão diante do Senhor DEUS, o Deus de Israel.
- 24
Pois eu expulsarei nações de diante de você e alargarei as suas fronteiras; e ninguém cobiçará a sua terra quando você subir para aparecer diante do SENHOR, o seu Deus, três vezes no ano.

“Você não oferecerá o sangue do meu sacrifício com pão levedado. O sacrifício da festa da Páscoa não deverá sobrar até a manhã seguinte.
- 26
“Você trará o melhor das primícias da sua terra à casa do SENHOR, o seu Deus. “Você não cozerá o cabrito no leite de sua mãe.”
- 27
O SENHOR disse a Moisés: “Escreva estas palavras; pois de acordo com estas palavras fiz uma aliança com você e com Israel.”
- 28
Ele esteve ali com o SENHOR quarenta dias e quarenta noites; não comeu pão, nem bebeu água. Ele escreveu nas tábuas as palavras da aliança, os dez mandamentos.

Quando Moisés desceu do monte Sinai com as duas tábuas da aliança em suas mãos, ao descer do monte, Moisés não sabia que a pele do seu rosto resplandecia por ter falado com ele.
- 30
Quando Arão e todos os filhos de Israel viram Moisés, eis que a pele do seu rosto resplandecia; e tiveram medo de se aproximar dele.
- 31
Moisés os chamou, e Arão e todos os líderes da congregação voltaram para ele; e Moisés falou com eles.
- 32
Depois disso, todos os filhos de Israel se aproximaram, e ele lhes deu todos os mandamentos que o SENHOR havia falado com ele no monte Sinai.
- 33
Quando Moisés terminou de falar com eles, colocou um véu sobre o seu rosto.
- 34
Mas quando Moisés entrava perante o SENHOR para falar com ele, tirava o véu, até sair; e ele saía, e falava aos filhos de Israel o que lhe havia sido ordenado.

Os filhos de Israel viam o rosto de Moisés, que a pele do rosto de Moisés resplandecia; então Moisés colocava o véu sobre o seu rosto novamente, até entrar para falar com ele.

The LORD said to Moses, “Chisel two stone tablets like the first. I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.
- 2
Be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to me on the top of the mountain.
- 3
No one shall come up with you or be seen anywhere on the mountain. Do not let the flocks or herds graze in front of that mountain.”
- 4
He chiseled two tablets of stone like the first; then Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up to Mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand two stone tablets.
- 5
The LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the LORD’s name.
- 6
The LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, “The LORD! The LORD, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth,
- 7
keeping loving kindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and disobedience and sin; and who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the children’s children, on the third and on the fourth generation.”

Moses hurried and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped.
- 9
He said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, Lord, please let the Lord go among us, even though this is a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”

He said, “Behold, I make a covenant: before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been worked in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the LORD; for it is an awesome thing that I do with you.
- 11
Observe that which I command you today. Behold, I will drive out before you the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

Be careful, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you are going, lest it be for a snare among you;
- 13
but you shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and you shall cut down their Asherah poles;
- 14
for you shall worship no other god; for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.
- 15
“Don’t make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, lest they play the prostitute after their gods, and sacrifice to their gods, and one call you and you eat of his sacrifice;
- 16
and you take of their daughters to your sons, and their daughters play the prostitute after their gods, and make your sons play the prostitute after their gods.
- 17
“You shall make no cast idols for yourselves.
- 18
“You shall keep the feast of unleavened bread. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month Abib; for in the month Abib you came out of Egypt.
- 19
“All that opens the womb is mine; and all your livestock that is male, the firstborn of cow and sheep.
- 20
You shall redeem the firstborn of a donkey with a lamb. If you will not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. You shall redeem all the firstborn of your sons. No one shall appear before me empty.
- 21
“Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest: in plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.
- 22
“You shall observe the feast of weeks with the first fruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of harvest at the year’s end.
- 23
Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord GOD, the God of Israel.
- 24
For I will drive out nations before you and enlarge your borders; neither shall any man desire your land when you go up to appear before the LORD, your God, three times in the year.

“You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread. The sacrifice of the feast of the Passover shall not be left to the morning.
- 26
“You shall bring the first of the first fruits of your ground to the house of the LORD your God. “You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.”
- 27
The LORD said to Moses, “Write these words; for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.”
- 28
He was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread, nor drank water. He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mountain, Moses didn’t know that the skin of his face shone by reason of his speaking with him.

When Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come near him.
- 31
Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned to him; and Moses spoke to them.
- 32
Afterward all the children of Israel came near, and he gave them all the commandments that the LORD had spoken with him on Mount Sinai.
- 33
When Moses was done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.
- 34
But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out; and he came out, and spoke to the children of Israel that which he was commanded.
- 35
The children of Israel saw Moses’ face, that the skin of Moses’ face shone; so Moses put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with him.
