“Você, filho do homem, pegue uma espada afiada. Você a usará como navalha de barbeiro e a fará passar sobre a sua cabeça e sobre a sua barba. Depois, pegue uma balança para pesar e dividir os cabelos.

Uma terça parte você queimará no fogo no meio da cidade, quando os dias do cerco se cumprirem. Você pegará uma terça parte, e a golpeará com a espada ao redor dela. Uma terça parte você espalhará ao vento, e eu desembainharei uma espada atrás deles.

Você pegará um pequeno número deles e os amarrará nas dobras do seu manto.

Destes, você pegará alguns novamente, os lançará no meio do fogo, e os queimará no fogo. Disso sairá um fogo para toda a casa de Israel.

“Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: ‘Esta é Jerusalém. Eu a coloquei no meio das nações, e os países estão ao seu redor.

Ela se rebelou contra as minhas ordenanças, praticando a impiedade mais do que as nações, e contra os meus estatutos mais do que os países que estão ao seu redor; pois rejeitaram as minhas ordenanças, e quanto aos meus estatutos, não andaram neles.’

“Portanto, assim diz o Senhor DEUS: ‘Porque você é mais turbulenta do que as nações que estão ao seu redor, e não andou nos meus estatutos, nem guardou as minhas ordenanças, nem sequer seguiu as ordenanças das nações que estão ao seu redor;

portanto, assim diz o Senhor DEUS: ‘Eis que eu, sim, eu mesmo, estou contra você; e executarei juízos no seu meio à vista das nações.

Farei em você o que não fiz antes, e não farei nada semelhante a isso nunca mais, por causa de todas as suas abominações.
- 10
Portanto, os pais comerão os filhos no seu meio, e os filhos comerão os seus pais. Executarei juízos sobre você; e espalharei todo o seu remanescente a todos os ventos.

Portanto, tão certo como eu vivo’, diz o Senhor DEUS, ‘certamente, porque você profanou o meu santuário com todas as suas coisas detestáveis e com todas as suas abominações, eu também a diminuirei. O meu olho não a poupará, e não terei piedade.

Uma terça parte de você morrerá de peste, e será consumida pela fome no seu meio. Uma terça parte cairá à espada ao seu redor. E uma terça parte eu espalharei a todos os ventos, e desembainharei uma espada atrás deles.

“‘Assim a minha ira se cumprirá, e farei a minha fúria repousar sobre eles, e serei consolado. Eles saberão que eu, o SENHOR, falei no meu zelo, quando eu tiver cumprido a minha fúria sobre eles.
- 14
“‘Além disso, farei de você uma desolação e um opróbrio entre as nações que estão ao seu redor, à vista de todos os que passarem.
- 15
Assim, você será um opróbrio e uma zombaria, uma advertência e um espanto, para as nações que estão ao seu redor, quando eu executar juízos sobre você com ira e com fúria, e com repreensões furiosas — eu, o SENHOR, falei isso —

quando eu enviar sobre eles as flechas malignas da fome que são para destruição, as quais enviarei para destruir você. Aumentarei a fome sobre você e quebrarei o seu sustento de pão.

Enviarei sobre você a fome e animais ferozes, e eles a deixarão sem filhos. A peste e o sangue passarão por você. Trarei a espada sobre você. Eu, o SENHOR, falei isso.’”

“You, son of man, take a sharp sword. You shall take it as a barber’s razor to yourself, and shall cause it to pass over your head and over your beard. Then take balances to weigh and divide the hair.

A third part you shall burn in the fire in the middle of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled. You shall take a third part, and strike with the sword around it. A third part you shall scatter to the wind, and I will draw out a sword after them.

You shall take a small number of these and bind them in the folds of your robe.
- 4
Of these again you shall take, and cast them into the middle of the fire, and burn them in the fire. From it a fire will come out into all the house of Israel.

“The Lord GOD says: ‘This is Jerusalem. I have set her in the middle of the nations, and countries are around her.
- 6
She has rebelled against my ordinances in doing wickedness more than the nations, and against my statutes more than the countries that are around her; for they have rejected my ordinances, and as for my statutes, they have not walked in them.’

“Therefore the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you are more turbulent than the nations that are around you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept my ordinances, neither have followed the ordinances of the nations that are around you;
- 8
therefore the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I, even I, am against you; and I will execute judgments among you in the sight of the nations.
- 9
I will do in you that which I have not done, and which I will not do anything like it any more, because of all your abominations.
- 10
Therefore the fathers will eat the sons within you, and the sons will eat their fathers. I will execute judgments on you; and I will scatter the whole remnant of you to all the winds.

Therefore as I live,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘surely, because you have defiled my sanctuary with all your detestable things, and with all your abominations, therefore I will also diminish you. My eye won’t spare, and I will have no pity.

A third part of you will die with the pestilence, and they will be consumed with famine within you. A third part will fall by the sword around you. A third part I will scatter to all the winds, and will draw out a sword after them.

“‘Thus my anger will be accomplished, and I will cause my wrath toward them to rest, and I will be comforted. They will know that I, the LORD, have spoken in my zeal, when I have accomplished my wrath on them.

“‘Moreover I will make you a desolation and a reproach among the nations that are around you, in the sight of all that pass by.
- 15
So it will be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment, to the nations that are around you, when I execute judgments on you in anger and in wrath, and in wrathful rebukes—I, the LORD, have spoken it—

when I send on them the evil arrows of famine that are for destruction, which I will send to destroy you. I will increase the famine on you and will break your staff of bread.

I will send on you famine and evil animals, and they will bereave you. Pestilence and blood will pass through you. I will bring the sword on you. I, the LORD, have spoken it.’”
