No sexto ano, no sexto mês, no quinto dia do mês, enquanto eu estava sentado em minha casa, e os anciãos de Judá estavam sentados diante de mim, a mão do Senhor DEUS caiu sobre mim ali.

Então eu olhei, e eis uma figura com aparência de fogo — da aparência de sua cintura para baixo, fogo, e de sua cintura para cima, como a aparência de resplendor, como se fosse metal incandescente.

Ele estendeu a forma de uma mão, e me pegou por uma mecha do meu cabelo; e o Espírito me levantou entre a terra e o céu, e me levou nas visões de Deus a Jerusalém, à entrada da porta do pátio interior que está voltada para o norte, onde estava o assento da imagem do ciúme, que provoca ciúme.

Eis que a glória do Deus de Israel estava lá, de acordo com a aparência que eu tinha visto na planície.

Então ele me disse: “Filho do homem, levante agora os seus olhos na direção do norte.” Então eu levantei os meus olhos na direção do norte, e vi, ao norte da porta do altar, esta imagem do ciúme na entrada.

Ele me disse: “Filho do homem, você vê o que eles estão fazendo? As grandes abominações que a casa de Israel comete aqui, para que eu me afaste do meu santuário? Mas você verá novamente outras grandes abominações.”

Ele me levou à porta do pátio; e quando eu olhei, eis que havia um buraco na parede.

Então ele me disse: “Filho do homem, cave agora na parede.” Quando eu cavei na parede, vi uma porta.

Ele me disse: “Entre, e veja as perversas abominações que eles estão fazendo aqui.”
- 10
Então eu entrei e olhei, e vi toda forma de animais rastejantes, animais abomináveis, e todos os ídolos da casa de Israel, desenhados na parede por todos os lados.

Setenta homens dos anciãos da casa de Israel estavam em pé diante deles. No meio deles estava Jazanias, filho de Safã, cada homem com o seu incensário na mão; e o cheiro da nuvem de incenso subia.

Então ele me disse: “Filho do homem, você viu o que os anciãos da casa de Israel fazem no escuro, cada homem nas suas salas de imagens? Pois eles dizem: ‘O SENHOR não nos vê. O SENHOR abandonou a terra.’”

Ele também me disse: “Você verá novamente mais das grandes abominações que eles fazem.”

Então ele me levou à entrada da porta da casa do SENHOR que estava voltada para o norte; e vi mulheres sentadas lá, chorando por Tamuz.
- 15
Então ele me disse: “Você viu isso, filho do homem? Você verá novamente abominações ainda maiores do que estas.”
- 16
Ele me levou para o pátio interior da casa do SENHOR; e vi que à porta do templo do SENHOR, entre o pórtico e o altar, havia cerca de vinte e cinco homens com as costas voltadas para o templo do SENHOR e os seus rostos para o oriente. Eles estavam adorando o sol voltados para o oriente.

Então ele me disse: “Você viu isso, filho do homem? É pouca coisa para a casa de Judá que eles cometam as abominações que cometem aqui? Pois eles encheram a terra de violência, e tornaram a me provocar à ira. Eis que eles chegam o ramo ao seu nariz.

Portanto, eu também agirei com ira. O meu olho não poupará, nem terei piedade. Embora clamem aos meus ouvidos com alta voz, ainda assim eu não os ouvirei.”

In the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, the Lord GOD’s hand fell on me there.

Then I saw, and behold, a likeness as the appearance of fire—from the appearance of his waist and downward, fire, and from his waist and upward, as the appearance of brightness, as it were glowing metal.

He stretched out the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my head; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and the sky, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the gate of the inner court that looks toward the north, where there was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provokes to jealousy.

Behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the appearance that I saw in the plain.

Then he said to me, “Son of man, lift up your eyes now the way toward the north.” So I lifted up my eyes the way toward the north, and saw, northward of the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.

He said to me, “Son of man, do you see what they do? Even the great abominations that the house of Israel commit here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? But you will again see yet other great abominations.”

He brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold, a hole in the wall.

Then he said to me, “Son of man, dig now in the wall.” When I had dug in the wall, I saw a door.

He said to me, “Go in, and see the wicked abominations that they do here.”
- 10
So I went in and looked, and saw every form of creeping things, abominable animals, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed around on the wall.

Seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel stood before them. In the middle of them Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan stood, every man with his censer in his hand; and the smell of the cloud of incense went up.

Then he said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in his rooms of imagery? For they say, ‘The LORD doesn’t see us. The LORD has forsaken the land.’”

He said also to me, “You will again see more of the great abominations which they do.”
- 14
Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD’s house which was toward the north; and I saw the women sit there weeping for Tammuz.
- 15
Then he said to me, “Have you seen this, son of man? You will again see yet greater abominations than these.”
- 16
He brought me into the inner court of the LORD’s house; and I saw at the door of the LORD’s temple, between the porch and the altar, there were about twenty-five men with their backs toward the LORD’s temple and their faces toward the east. They were worshiping the sun toward the east.

Then he said to me, “Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? For they have filled the land with violence, and have turned again to provoke me to anger. Behold, they put the branch to their nose.

Therefore I will also deal in wrath. My eye won’t spare, neither will I have pity. Though they cry in my ears with a loud voice, yet I will not hear them.”
