Gênesis 7
O embarque e o dilúvio. Noé, já com seiscentos anos, entra com a família e os animais aos pares, e é o próprio SENHOR quem o fecha lá dentro (v.16). Passados sete dias, rompem-se as fontes do abismo e abrem-se as janelas do céu; chove quarenta dias, e as águas dominam cento e cinquenta. Convém reparar nas datas exactas do versículo 11. O refrão insiste em que sobreviveu apenas o que estava na arca (v.23).

O SENHOR disse a Noé: “Entre na arca com toda a sua família, pois tenho visto que você é justo diante de mim nesta geração.

Leve com você sete casais de cada espécie de animal puro, o macho e sua fêmea. Dos animais que não são puros, leve dois, o macho e sua fêmea.
- 3
Também das aves do céu, leve sete pares, macho e fêmea, para manter viva a semente sobre a face de toda a terra.
- 4
Porque daqui a sete dias, farei chover sobre a terra durante quarenta dias e quarenta noites. Destruirei da face da terra todos os seres vivos que fiz.”

Noé fez tudo o que o SENHOR lhe ordenou.

Noé tinha seiscentos anos de idade quando o dilúvio de águas veio sobre a terra.

Noé entrou na arca com seus filhos, sua mulher e as mulheres de seus filhos, por causa das águas do dilúvio.

Dos animais puros, dos animais impuros, das aves e de tudo o que rasteja sobre a terra,

entraram na arca com Noé, em pares, macho e fêmea, como Deus havia ordenado a Noé.

Passados os sete dias, as águas do dilúvio vieram sobre a terra.

No ano seiscentos da vida de Noé, no segundo mês, no décimo sétimo dia do mês, naquele mesmo dia, todas as fontes do grande abismo se romperam, e as janelas do céu se abriram.

E choveu sobre a terra quarenta dias e quarenta noites.

Naquele mesmo dia, Noé, e Sem, Cam e Jafé — os filhos de Noé — e a mulher de Noé e as três mulheres de seus filhos com eles, entraram na arca —

eles, e cada animal segundo a sua espécie, todos os animais domésticos segundo a sua espécie, todo ser que rasteja sobre a terra segundo a sua espécie, e cada ave segundo a sua espécie, aves de todos os tipos.

Entraram na arca para junto de Noé, aos pares, de toda carne em que havia fôlego de vida.

Os que entraram, entraram macho e fêmea de toda carne, como Deus lhe havia ordenado; então o SENHOR fechou a porta atrás dele.

O dilúvio durou quarenta dias sobre a terra. As águas aumentaram e levantaram a arca, e ela se elevou acima da terra.

As águas subiram e aumentaram muito sobre a terra; e a arca flutuava na superfície das águas.
- 19
As águas subiram cada vez mais sobre a terra. Todas as altas montanhas que havia debaixo de todo o céu foram cobertas.
- 20
As águas subiram quinze côvados acima, e as montanhas foram cobertas.
- 21
Toda carne que se movia sobre a terra morreu, incluindo aves, animais domésticos, animais selvagens, todo ser que rasteja sobre a terra e todos os seres humanos.

Tudo o que estava em terra seca, em cujas narinas havia o fôlego do espírito de vida, morreu.
- 23
Todo ser vivo que estava sobre a face da terra foi destruído, incluindo seres humanos, animais domésticos, seres rastejantes e aves do céu. Eles foram destruídos da terra. Restou apenas Noé e aqueles que estavam com ele na arca.

E as águas inundaram a terra por cento e cinquenta dias.

The LORD said to Noah, “Come with all of your household into the ship, for I have seen your righteousness before me in this generation.

You shall take seven pairs of every clean animal with you, the male and his female. Of the animals that are not clean, take two, the male and his female.

Also of the birds of the sky, seven and seven, male and female, to keep seed alive on the surface of all the earth.

In seven days, I will cause it to rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights. I will destroy every living thing that I have made from the surface of the ground.”

Noah did everything that the LORD commanded him.
- 6
Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters came on the earth.

Noah went into the ship with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives, because of the floodwaters.

Clean animals, unclean animals, birds, and everything that creeps on the ground
- 9
went by pairs to Noah into the ship, male and female, as God commanded Noah.
- 10
After the seven days, the floodwaters came on the earth.
- 11
In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the sky’s windows opened.

It rained on the earth forty days and forty nights.
- 13
In the same day Noah, and Shem, Ham, and Japheth—the sons of Noah—and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered into the ship—

they, and every animal after its kind, all the livestock after their kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird of every sort.

Pairs from all flesh with the breath of life in them went into the ship to Noah.
- 16
Those who went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God commanded him; then the LORD shut him in.

The flood was forty days on the earth. The waters increased, and lifted up the ship, and it was lifted up above the earth.
- 18
The waters rose, and increased greatly on the earth; and the ship floated on the surface of the waters.
- 19
The waters rose very high on the earth. All the high mountains that were under the whole sky were covered.
- 20
The waters rose fifteen cubits higher, and the mountains were covered.
- 21
All flesh died that moved on the earth, including birds, livestock, animals, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man.
- 22
All on the dry land, in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, died.
- 23
Every living thing was destroyed that was on the surface of the ground, including man, livestock, creeping things, and birds of the sky. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ship.

The waters flooded the earth one hundred fifty days.
Limpos e impuros, contados à parte
Os animais limpos entram de sete em sete, e os impuros de dois em dois (vv.2-3) — distinção enunciada muito antes da Lei de Moisés, e o excedente de limpos prepara já o sacrifício do capítulo seguinte.
As águas a subirem quinze côvados acima dos montes (v.20) medem o alcance do juízo: a terra seca da criação é desfeita e devolvida ao abismo de onde surgira.
