“Consolem, consolem o meu povo”, diz o seu Deus.

“Falem ao coração de Jerusalém, e clamem a ela que a sua guerra está terminada, que a sua iniquidade está perdoada, que ela recebeu da mão do SENHOR em dobro por todos os seus pecados.”

A voz do que clama: “Preparem o caminho do SENHOR no deserto! Façam uma estrada reta no ermo para o nosso Deus.
4
Todo vale será exaltado, e todo monte e colina será rebaixado. O terreno acidentado será nivelado, e os lugares ásperos se tornarão uma planície.
5
A glória do SENHOR será revelada, e toda a carne a verá juntamente; pois a boca do SENHOR o disse.”

A voz de um que diz: “Clame!” E alguém disse: “O que clamarei?” “Toda a carne é como a erva, e toda a sua glória é como a flor do campo.
7
A erva seca, a flor murcha, porque o sopro do SENHOR sopra sobre ela. Certamente o povo é como a erva.
8
A erva seca, a flor murcha; mas a palavra do nosso Deus permanece para sempre.”

Você que traz boas novas a Sião, suba em um alto monte. Você que traz boas novas a Jerusalém, levante a sua voz com força! Levante-a! Não tenha medo! Diga às cidades de Judá: “Eis o seu Deus!”

Eis que o Senhor DEUS virá como um poderoso, e o seu braço governará por ele. Eis que a sua recompensa está com ele, e a sua retribuição diante dele.
11
Ele apascentará o seu rebanho como um pastor. Ele reunirá os cordeiros em seu braço, e os carregará em seu colo. Ele guiará mansamente as que têm crias.
12
Quem mediu as águas na concha da sua mão, e marcou o céu com o seu palmo, e calculou o pó da terra em um cesto de medida, e pesou os montes em balanças, e as colinas em uma balança de precisão?
13
Quem guiou o Espírito do SENHOR, ou o ensinou como seu conselheiro?
14
Com quem ele tomou conselho, e quem o instruiu, e o ensinou na vereda da justiça, e lhe ensinou conhecimento, e lhe mostrou o caminho do entendimento?
15
Eis que as nações são como uma gota em um balde, e são consideradas como um grão de pó na balança. Eis que ele levanta as ilhas como uma coisa muito pequena.
16
O Líbano não é suficiente para queimar, nem os seus animais são suficientes para um holocausto.
17
Todas as nações são como nada diante dele. Elas são consideradas por ele como menos do que nada, e vaidade.
18
A quem, então, vocês compararão a Deus? Ou que semelhança vocês compararão a ele?
19
Um artífice funde uma imagem, e o ourives a reveste de ouro, e funde correntes de prata para ela.
20
Aquele que é muito pobre para tal oferta escolhe uma árvore que não apodreça. Ele busca um artífice habilidoso para lhe preparar uma imagem esculpida que não se mova.
21
Vocês não sabem? Vocês não ouviram? Isso não lhes foi dito desde o princípio? Vocês não entenderam desde as fundações da terra?

É ele quem se assenta sobre o círculo da terra, e os seus habitantes são como gafanhotos; quem estende os céus como uma cortina, e os desenrola como uma tenda para nela habitar,
23
quem reduz os príncipes a nada, quem torna os juízes da terra insignificantes.
24
Eles mal são plantados. Eles mal são semeados. O seu tronco mal criou raiz na terra. Ele apenas sopra sobre eles, e eles secam, e o redemoinho os leva como palha.
25
“A quem, então, vocês me compararão? Quem é o meu igual?”, diz o Santo.
26
Levantem os seus olhos para o alto, e vejam quem criou estas coisas, quem faz sair o seu exército por número. Ele chama a todos pelo nome. Pela grandeza da sua força, e porque ele é forte em poder, nenhum deles falta.
27
Por que você diz, Jacó, e fala, Israel: “O meu caminho está escondido do SENHOR, e a justiça que me é devida é desconsiderada pelo meu Deus”?
28
Você não sabe? Você não ouviu? O Deus eterno, o SENHOR, o Criador dos confins da terra, não desfalece. Ele não se cansa. O seu entendimento é inescrutável.
29
Ele dá poder ao fraco. Ele aumenta a força daquele que não tem vigor.
30
Até os jovens desfalecem e se cansam, e os moços caem exaustos;
31
mas aqueles que esperam no SENHOR renovarão as suas forças. Eles subirão com asas como águias. Eles correrão, e não se cansarão. Eles caminharão, e não desfalecerão.

“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.
2
“Speak comfortably to Jerusalem, and call out to her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received of the LORD’s hand double for all her sins.”

The voice of one who calls out, “Prepare the way of the LORD in the wilderness! Make a level highway in the desert for our God.
4
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain.
5
The LORD’s glory shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.”
6
The voice of one saying, “Cry out!” One said, “What shall I cry?” “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory is like the flower of the field.
7
The grass withers, the flower fades, because the LORD’s breath blows on it. Surely the people are like grass.
8
The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God stands forever.”
9
You who tell good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength! Lift it up! Don’t be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah, “Behold, your God!”
10
Behold, the Lord GOD will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him. Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.
11
He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom. He will gently lead those who have their young.
12
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and marked off the sky with his span, and calculated the dust of the earth in a measuring basket, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
13
Who has directed the LORD’s Spirit, or has taught him as his counselor?
14
Who did he take counsel with, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding?
15
Behold, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded as a speck of dust on a balance. Behold, he lifts up the islands like a very little thing.
16
Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor its animals sufficient for a burnt offering.
17
All the nations are like nothing before him. They are regarded by him as less than nothing, and vanity.
18
To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to him?
19
A workman has cast an image, and the goldsmith overlays it with gold, and casts silver chains for it.
20
He who is too impoverished for such an offering chooses a tree that will not rot. He seeks a skillful workman to set up a carved image for him that will not be moved.
21
Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? Haven’t you been told from the beginning? Haven’t you understood from the foundations of the earth?
22
It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in,
23
who brings princes to nothing, who makes the judges of the earth meaningless.
24
They are planted scarcely. They are sown scarcely. Their stock has scarcely taken root in the ground. He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the whirlwind takes them away as stubble.
25
“To whom then will you liken me? Who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
26
Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these, who brings out their army by number. He calls them all by name. By the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power, not one is lacking.
27
Why do you say, Jacob, and speak, Israel, “My way is hidden from the LORD, and the justice due me is disregarded by my God”?
28
Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn’t faint. He isn’t weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
29
He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.
30
Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall;
31
but those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.
