Então Jó respondeu ao SENHOR:

“Sei que o Senhor pode fazer todas as coisas, e que nenhum dos seus planos pode ser frustrado.

O Senhor perguntou: ‘Quem é este que encobre o conselho sem conhecimento?’ por isso falei do que eu não entendia, coisas maravilhosas demais para mim, as quais eu não conhecia.

O Senhor disse: ‘Ouça, agora, e eu falarei; eu lhe farei perguntas, e você me responderá.’
- 5
Eu tinha ouvido falar do Senhor apenas por ouvir dizer, mas agora os meus olhos o veem.
- 6
Por isso me abomino, e me arrependo no pó e na cinza.”

Sucedeu que, depois que o SENHOR falou essas palavras a Jó, o SENHOR disse a Elifaz, o temanita: “Minha ira se acendeu contra você e contra os seus dois amigos; pois vocês não falaram de mim o que é reto, como fez o meu servo Jó.

Agora, portanto, peguem para vocês sete novilhos e sete carneiros, vão ao meu servo Jó e ofereçam por vocês mesmos um holocausto; e o meu servo Jó orará por vocês, pois eu o aceitarei, para não tratá-los de acordo com a loucura de vocês. Pois vocês não falaram de mim o que é reto, como fez o meu servo Jó.”

Então Elifaz, o temanita, e Bildade, o suíta, e Zofar, o naamatita, foram e fizeram o que o SENHOR lhes havia ordenado, e o SENHOR aceitou a Jó.

O SENHOR restaurou a prosperidade de Jó quando ele orou pelos seus amigos. O SENHOR deu a Jó o dobro de tudo o que ele tinha antes.

Então todos os seus irmãos, todas as suas irmãs e todos os que antes o conheciam vieram a ele e comeram pão com ele em sua casa. Eles o confortaram e o consolaram por todo o mal que o SENHOR havia trazido sobre ele. Cada um também lhe deu uma peça de dinheiro, e cada um, um anel de ouro.

Assim o SENHOR abençoou o final da vida de Jó mais do que o seu início. Ele teve catorze mil ovelhas, seis mil camelos, mil juntas de bois e mil jumentas.

Ele também teve sete filhos e três filhas.
- 14
Ele chamou o nome da primeira de Jemima; o nome da segunda de Quézia; e o nome da terceira de Quéren-Hapuque.
- 15
Em toda a terra não se encontraram mulheres tão lindas quanto as filhas de Jó. Seu pai lhes deu uma herança entre os seus irmãos.

Depois disso, Jó viveu cento e quarenta anos, e viu os seus filhos, e os filhos de seus filhos, até a quarta geração.

Então Jó morreu, velho e cheio de dias.

Then Job answered the LORD:
- 2
“I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be restrained.
- 3
You asked, ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’ therefore I have uttered that which I didn’t understand, things too wonderful for me, which I didn’t know.
- 4
You said, ‘Listen, now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you will answer me.’
- 5
I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you.
- 6
Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.”

It was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words to Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is kindled against you, and against your two friends; for you have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has.

Now therefore, take to yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept him, that I not deal with you according to your folly. For you have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has.”

So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did what the LORD commanded them, and the LORD accepted Job.

The LORD restored Job’s prosperity when he prayed for his friends. The LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Then all his brothers, all his sisters, and all those who had been of his acquaintance before, came to him and ate bread with him in his house. They comforted him, and consoled him concerning all the evil that the LORD had brought on him. Everyone also gave him a piece of money, and everyone a ring of gold.

So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand female donkeys.

He had also seven sons and three daughters.
- 14
He called the name of the first, Jemimah; and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren Happuch.
- 15
In all the land were no women found so beautiful as the daughters of Job. Their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.
- 16
After this Job lived one hundred forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, to four generations.
- 17
So Job died, being old and full of days.
