O SENHOR é um Deus zeloso e vingador. O SENHOR vinga e é cheio de ira. O SENHOR toma vingança contra os seus adversários, e guarda a sua ira contra os seus inimigos.

O SENHOR é tardio em irar-se, e grande em poder, e de forma alguma deixará o culpado impune. O SENHOR tem o seu caminho no redemoinho e na tempestade, e as nuvens são a poeira dos seus pés.

Ele repreende o mar e o faz secar, e seca todos os rios. Basã e Carmelo definham. A flor do Líbano definha.

Os montes tremem diante dele, e as colinas se derretem. A terra treme na sua presença, sim, o mundo e todos os que nele habitam.

Quem pode ficar de pé diante da sua indignação? Quem pode suportar a ferocidade da sua ira? A sua ira se derrama como fogo, e as rochas são despedaçadas por ele.

O SENHOR é bom, uma fortaleza no dia da angústia; e ele conhece os que nele se refugiam.

Mas com uma inundação transbordante, ele dará um fim total ao lugar dela, e perseguirá os seus inimigos até as trevas.

O que vocês tramam contra o SENHOR? Ele dará um fim total. A aflição não se levantará pela segunda vez.

Pois emaranhados como espinhos, e embriagados com a sua bebida, eles são totalmente consumidos como palha seca.

De você saiu um que maquina o mal contra o SENHOR, que aconselha a perversidade.

O SENHOR diz: “Embora estejam com força total e sejam muitos, ainda assim serão ceifados e passarão. Embora eu o tenha afligido, não o afligirei mais.

Agora quebrarei o jugo dele de sobre você, e romperei as suas correntes.”

O SENHOR deu uma ordem a seu respeito: “Não haverá mais descendentes para levar o seu nome. Da casa dos seus deuses, eliminarei a imagem esculpida e a imagem de fundição. Prepararei a sua sepultura, pois você é vil.”

The LORD says: “Though they are in full strength and likewise many, even so they will be cut down and pass away. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more.

Now I will break his yoke from off you, and will burst your bonds apart.”

The LORD has commanded concerning you: “No more descendants will bear your name. Out of the house of your gods, I will cut off the engraved image and the molten image. I will make your grave, for you are vile.”

Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace! Keep your feasts, Judah! Perform your vows, for the wicked one will no more pass through you. He is utterly cut off.
