David the king said to all the assembly, “Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.
- 2
Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for the things of gold, the silver for the things of silver, the bronze for the things of bronze, iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood, also onyx stones, stones to be set, stones for inlaid work of various colors, all kinds of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.

In addition, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, since I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, I give it to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house:
- 4
even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, with which to overlay the walls of the houses;
- 5
of gold for the things of gold, and of silver for the things of silver, and for all kinds of work to be made by the hands of artisans. Who then offers willingly to consecrate himself today to the LORD?”

Then the princes of the fathers’ households, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers over the king’s work, offered willingly;

and they gave for the service of God’s house of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand darics, of silver ten thousand talents, of bronze eighteen thousand talents, and of iron one hundred thousand talents.

People with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of the LORD’s house, under the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.
- 9
Then the people rejoiced, because they offered willingly, because with a perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD; and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.
- 10
Therefore David blessed the LORD before all the assembly; and David said, “You are blessed, LORD, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever.
- 11
Yours, LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty! For all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, LORD, and you are exalted as head above all.
- 12
Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all! In your hand is power and might! It is in your hand to make great, and to give strength to all!
- 13
Now therefore, our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name.
- 14
But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and we have given you of your own.
- 15
For we are strangers before you and foreigners, as all our fathers were. Our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no remaining.
- 16
LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build you a house for your holy name comes from your hand, and is all your own.
- 17
I know also, my God, that you try the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things. Now I have seen with joy your people, who are present here, offer willingly to you.
- 18
LORD, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this desire forever in the thoughts of the heart of your people, and prepare their heart for you;
- 19
and give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep your commandments, your testimonies, and your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision.”

Then David said to all the assembly, “Now bless the LORD your God!” All the assembly blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads and prostrated themselves before the LORD and the king.
- 21
They sacrificed sacrifices to the LORD and offered burnt offerings to the LORD on the next day after that day, even one thousand bulls, one thousand rams, and one thousand lambs, with their drink offerings and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel,
- 22
and ate and drank before the LORD on that day with great gladness. They made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him before the LORD to be prince, and Zadok to be priest.

Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.
- 24
All the princes, the mighty men, and also all of the sons of King David submitted themselves to Solomon the king.
- 25
The LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and gave to him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

Now David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.
- 27
The time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; he reigned seven years in Hebron, and he reigned thirty-three years in Jerusalem.

He died at a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor; and Solomon his son reigned in his place.
- 29
Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the history of Samuel the seer, and in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer,
- 30
with all his reign and his might, and the events that involved him, Israel, and all the kingdoms of the lands.

O rei Davi disse a toda a assembleia: “Meu filho Salomão, o único a quem Deus escolheu, ainda é jovem e inexperiente, e a obra é grande; pois o palácio não é para homens, mas para o SENHOR Deus.

Ora, eu preparei com todas as minhas forças para a casa do meu Deus o ouro para as coisas de ouro, a prata para as coisas de prata, o bronze para as coisas de bronze, o ferro para as coisas de ferro, e a madeira para as coisas de madeira, além de pedras de ônix, pedras para engaste, pedras para embutir de várias cores, todos os tipos de pedras preciosas, e mármore em abundância.

Além disso, por amor à casa do meu Deus, como tenho um tesouro particular de ouro e prata, eu o dou para a casa do meu Deus, além de tudo o que já preparei para a santa casa:

ou seja, três mil talentos de ouro, do ouro de Ofir, e sete mil talentos de prata refinada, para revestir as paredes dos edifícios;
- 5
de ouro para as coisas de ouro, e de prata para as coisas de prata, e para todo tipo de obra a ser feita pelas mãos dos artesãos. Quem, pois, se dispõe voluntariamente a consagrar-se hoje ao SENHOR?”

Então os líderes das casas paternas, os líderes das tribos de Israel, os capitães de milhares e de centenas, com os supervisores da obra do rei, ofertaram voluntariamente;
- 7
e deram para o serviço da casa de Deus cinco mil talentos de ouro e dez mil dáricos, dez mil talentos de prata, dezoito mil talentos de bronze e cem mil talentos de ferro.

As pessoas com quem se acharam pedras preciosas as deram para o tesouro da casa do SENHOR, sob os cuidados de Jeiel, o gersonita.
- 9
Então o povo se alegrou, porque ofertaram voluntariamente, pois com coração íntegro ofertaram voluntariamente ao SENHOR; e o rei Davi também se alegrou com grande alegria.
- 10
Por isso Davi bendisse ao SENHOR diante de toda a assembleia; e Davi disse: “Bendito és tu, SENHOR, o Deus de Israel, nosso pai, de eternidade a eternidade.
- 11
Tua, SENHOR, é a grandeza, o poder, a glória, a vitória e a majestade! Pois tudo o que há nos céus e na terra é teu. Teu é o reino, SENHOR, e tu és exaltado como cabeça sobre todos.
- 12
Tanto as riquezas quanto a honra vêm de ti, e tu dominas sobre tudo! Em tua mão há poder e força! Está em tua mão engrandecer e dar força a todos!
- 13
Agora, pois, nosso Deus, nós te agradecemos e louvamos o teu glorioso nome.
- 14
Mas quem sou eu, e quem é o meu povo, para que pudéssemos ofertar tão voluntariamente assim? Pois todas as coisas vêm de ti, e do que é teu nós te damos.
- 15
Pois somos estrangeiros e peregrinos diante de ti, como todos os nossos pais foram. Nossos dias na terra são como uma sombra, e não há permanência.
- 16
SENHOR, nosso Deus, toda esta abundância que preparamos para te edificar uma casa para o teu santo nome vem da tua mão, e é toda tua.
- 17
Eu também sei, meu Deus, que tu provas o coração e te agradas da retidão. Quanto a mim, na retidão do meu coração eu ofertei voluntariamente todas estas coisas. Agora vi com alegria o teu povo, que está presente aqui, ofertar voluntariamente a ti.
- 18
SENHOR, o Deus de Abraão, de Isaque e de Israel, nossos pais, conserva este desejo para sempre nos pensamentos do coração do teu povo, e prepara o coração deles para ti;
- 19
e dá ao meu filho Salomão um coração íntegro, para guardar os teus mandamentos, os teus testemunhos e os teus estatutos, e para fazer todas estas coisas, e para edificar o palácio, para o qual fiz provisão.”
- 20
Então Davi disse a toda a assembleia: “Agora bendigam ao SENHOR, o seu Deus!” Toda a assembleia bendisse ao SENHOR, o Deus de seus pais, e inclinaram suas cabeças e se prostraram diante do SENHOR e do rei.
- 21
Eles ofereceram sacrifícios ao SENHOR e apresentaram holocaustos ao SENHOR no dia seguinte àquele dia, a saber, mil novilhos, mil carneiros e mil cordeiros, com suas ofertas de bebida e sacrifícios em abundância por todo o Israel,
- 22
e comeram e beberam diante do SENHOR naquele dia com grande alegria. Eles fizeram de Salomão, filho de Davi, rei pela segunda vez, e o ungiram diante do SENHOR para ser o príncipe, e a Zadoque para ser sacerdote.
- 23
Então Salomão se assentou no trono do SENHOR como rei, em lugar de seu pai Davi, e prosperou; e todo o Israel lhe obedeceu.
- 24
Todos os líderes, os homens valentes, e também todos os filhos do rei Davi se submeteram ao rei Salomão.
- 25
O SENHOR engrandeceu Salomão sobremaneira à vista de todo o Israel, e lhe deu tal majestade real como nenhum rei antes dele teve em Israel.
- 26
Ora, Davi, filho de Jessé, reinou sobre todo o Israel.
- 27
O tempo que ele reinou sobre Israel foi de quarenta anos; ele reinou sete anos em Hebrom, e reinou trinta e três anos em Jerusalém.
- 28
Ele morreu em boa velhice, cheio de dias, riquezas e honra; e seu filho Salomão reinou em seu lugar.
- 29
Ora, os atos do rei Davi, desde os primeiros até os últimos, eis que estão escritos na história de Samuel, o vidente, e na história de Natã, o profeta, e na história de Gade, o vidente,
- 30
com todo o seu reinado e o seu poder, e os acontecimentos que envolveram a ele, a Israel, e a todos os reinos daquelas terras.
