Dare any of you, having a matter against his neighbor, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?
- 2
Don’t you know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

Don’t you know that we will judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?
- 4
If then you have to judge things pertaining to this life, do you set them to judge who are of no account in the assembly?
- 5
I say this to move you to shame. Isn’t there even one wise man among you who would be able to decide between his brothers?
- 6
But brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers!
- 7
Therefore it is already altogether a defect in you that you have lawsuits one with another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded?
- 8
No, but you yourselves do wrong and defraud, and that against your brothers.

Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,

nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom.

Some of you were such, but you were washed. You were sanctified. You were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are expedient. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be brought under the power of anything.
- 13
“Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods,” but God will bring to nothing both it and them. But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

Now God raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by his power.

Don’t you know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be!
- 16
Or don’t you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For, “The two”, he says, “will become one flesh.”

But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.
- 18
Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
- 19
Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,
- 20
for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Algum de vocês, tendo um caso contra seu vizinho, ousa ir à justiça diante dos injustos, e não diante dos santos?

Vocês não sabem que os santos julgarão o mundo? E se o mundo for julgado por vocês, vocês são indignos de julgar os menores assuntos?

Você não sabe que nós julgaremos os anjos? Quanto mais, coisas que dizem respeito a esta vida?

Se então você tem que julgar as coisas pertencentes a esta vida, você as coloca para julgar as que não têm nenhuma importância na assembléia?

Digo isto para envergonhá-lo. Não há sequer um homem sábio entre vocês que seria capaz de decidir entre seus irmãos?

Mas irmão vai à lei com irmão, e isso diante dos incrédulos!
- 7
Portanto, já é um defeito total em vocês o fato de terem ações judiciais entre si. Por que não ser injustiçado? Por que não preferir ser enganado?

Não, mas vocês mesmos cometem erros e fraudes, e isso contra seus irmãos.

Ou você não sabe que os injustos não herdarão o Reino de Deus? Não se deixe enganar. Nem os imorais sexuais, nem idólatras, nem adúlteros, nem prostitutas masculinas, nem homossexuais,
- 10
nem ladrões, nem cobiçosos, nem bêbados, nem caluniadores, nem extorsionistas herdarão o Reino de Deus.

Alguns de vocês foram assim, mas foram lavados. Vocês foram santificados. Vocês foram justificados em nome do Senhor Jesus, e no Espírito de nosso Deus.

“Todas as coisas são legais para mim”, mas nem todas as coisas são expeditas. “Todas as coisas são lícitas para mim”, mas não serei colocado sob o poder de nada.

“Alimentos para a barriga, e a barriga para os alimentos”, mas Deus não trará nada tanto para ele como para eles. Mas o corpo não é para a imoralidade sexual, mas para o Senhor, e o Senhor para o corpo.

Agora Deus elevou o Senhor, e também nos elevará pelo seu poder.

Vocês não sabem que seus corpos são membros de Cristo? Devo então tomar os membros de Cristo e torná-los membros de uma prostituta? Que nunca seja!

Ou não sabeis que aquele que se une a uma prostituta é um só corpo? Pois, “os dois”, diz ele, “se tornarão uma só carne”.

Mas aquele que está unido ao Senhor é um só espírito.
- 18
Fuja da imoralidade sexual! “Todo pecado que um homem faz está fora do corpo”, mas aquele que comete a imoralidade sexual peca contra seu próprio corpo.

Ou você não sabe que seu corpo é um templo do Espírito Santo que está em você, que você tem de Deus? Você não é seu próprio,
- 20
pois você foi comprado com um preço. Portanto, glorifique a Deus em seu corpo e em seu espírito, que são de Deus.
