So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

Then the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel, the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was kindled against Job. His wrath was kindled because he justified himself rather than God.

Also his wrath was kindled against his three friends, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.

Now Elihu had waited to speak to Job, because they were older than he.

When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, his wrath was kindled.

Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered, “I am young, and you are very old. Therefore I held back, and didn’t dare show you my opinion.

I said, ‘Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.’
- 8
But there is a spirit in man, and the Spirit of the Almighty gives them understanding.
- 9
It is not the great who are wise, nor the aged who understand justice.
- 10
Therefore I said, ‘Listen to me; I also will show my opinion.’
- 11
“Behold, I waited for your words, and I listened for your reasoning, while you searched out what to say.
- 12
Yes, I gave you my full attention, but there was no one who convinced Job, or who answered his words, among you.

Beware lest you say, ‘We have found wisdom. God may refute him, not man;’
- 14
for he has not directed his words against me; neither will I answer him with your speeches.
- 15
“They are amazed. They answer no more. They don’t have a word to say.
- 16
Shall I wait, because they don’t speak, because they stand still, and answer no more?
- 17
I also will answer my part, and I also will show my opinion.

For I am full of words. The spirit within me constrains me.

Behold, my breast is as wine which has no vent; like new wineskins it is ready to burst.
- 20
I will speak, that I may be refreshed. I will open my lips and answer.
- 21
Please don’t let me respect any man’s person, neither will I give flattering titles to any man.

For I don’t know how to give flattering titles, or else my Maker would soon take me away.

Assim, estes três homens deixaram de responder a Jó, porque ele era justo a seus próprios olhos.

Então a ira de Elihu, filho de Barachel, o Buzita, da família de Ram, foi acesa contra Jó. Sua ira foi acesa porque ele se justificava a si mesmo e não a Deus.

Também sua ira foi acesa contra seus três amigos, porque eles não encontraram resposta, e ainda assim condenaram Jó.

Agora Elihu havia esperado para falar com Jó, porque eles eram mais velhos do que ele.

Quando Elihu viu que não havia resposta na boca desses três homens, sua ira se acendeu.

Elihu, filho de Barachel, o Buzita, respondeu, “Eu sou jovem e você é muito velho”. Portanto, retive-me e não me atrevi a mostrar minha opinião.

Eu disse: 'Os dias devem falar', e multidão de anos deve ensinar sabedoria'.
- 8
Mas há um espírito no homem, e o Espírito do Todo-Poderoso lhes dá compreensão.
- 9
Não são os grandes que são sábios, nem os idosos que entendem de justiça.
- 10
Por isso eu disse: 'Escute-me'; Também vou mostrar minha opinião”.
- 11
“Contemplei, esperei por suas palavras, e escutei por seu raciocínio, enquanto você procurava o que dizer.
- 12
Sim, eu lhe dei toda a minha atenção, mas não houve ninguém que convenceu Job, ou quem respondeu às suas palavras, entre vocês.

Cuidado para não dizer: 'Nós encontramos a sabedoria'. Deus pode refutá-lo, não o homem;'
- 14
pois ele não dirigiu suas palavras contra mim; nem lhe responderei com seus discursos.
- 15
“Eles estão maravilhados. Eles não respondem mais. Eles não têm uma palavra a dizer.
- 16
Devo esperar, porque eles não falam, porque eles ficam parados, e não respondem mais?
- 17
Também vou responder minha parte, e também vou mostrar minha opinião.
- 18
Pois eu estou cheio de palavras. O espírito dentro de mim me constrange.
- 19
Eis que meu peito é como um vinho que não tem respiradouro; como odres novos, está pronto para explodir.
- 20
I falará, para que eu possa ser refrescado. Vou abrir meus lábios e responder.
- 21
Por favor, não me deixe respeitar a pessoa de nenhum homem, nem vou dar títulos lisonjeiros a nenhum homem.
- 22
Pois eu não sei como dar títulos lisonjeiros, ou então meu Criador logo me levaria embora.
