The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
- 2
“Speak to Aaron, and tell him, ‘When you light the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the lamp stand.’”
- 3
Aaron did so. He lit its lamps to light the area in front of the lamp stand, as the LORD commanded Moses.
- 4
This was the workmanship of the lamp stand, beaten work of gold. From its base to its flowers, it was beaten work. He made the lamp stand according to the pattern which the LORD had shown Moses.

The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
- 6
“Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.
- 7
You shall do this to them to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of cleansing on them, let them shave their whole bodies with a razor, let them wash their clothes, and cleanse themselves.
- 8
Then let them take a young bull and its meal offering, fine flour mixed with oil; and another young bull you shall take for a sin offering.
- 9
You shall present the Levites before the Tent of Meeting. You shall assemble the whole congregation of the children of Israel.
- 10
You shall present the Levites before the LORD. The children of Israel shall lay their hands on the Levites,
- 11
and Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for a wave offering on the behalf of the children of Israel, that it may be theirs to do the service of the LORD.

“The Levites shall lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, and you shall offer the one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering to the LORD, to make atonement for the Levites.
- 13
You shall set the Levites before Aaron and before his sons, and offer them as a wave offering to the LORD.
- 14
Thus you shall separate the Levites from among the children of Israel, and the Levites shall be mine.

“After that, the Levites shall go in to do the service of the Tent of Meeting. You shall cleanse them, and offer them as a wave offering.
- 16
For they are wholly given to me from among the children of Israel; instead of all who open the womb, even the firstborn of all the children of Israel, I have taken them to me.
- 17
For all the firstborn among the children of Israel are mine, both man and animal. On the day that I struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I sanctified them for myself.
- 18
I have taken the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel.
- 19
I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the Tent of Meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel, so that there will be no plague among the children of Israel when the children of Israel come near to the sanctuary.”

Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel did so to the Levites. According to all that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so the children of Israel did to them.

The Levites purified themselves from sin, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them for a wave offering before the LORD and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them.

After that, the Levites went in to do their service in the Tent of Meeting before Aaron and before his sons: as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them.

The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
- 24
“This is what is assigned to the Levites: from twenty-five years old and upward they shall go in to wait on the service in the work of the Tent of Meeting;
- 25
and from the age of fifty years they shall retire from doing the work, and shall serve no more,
- 26
but shall assist their brothers in the Tent of Meeting, to perform the duty, and shall perform no service. This is how you shall have the Levites do their duties.”

O SENHOR falou a Moisés, dizendo:
- 2
“Fale a Arão e diga-lhe: ‘Quando você acender as lâmpadas, as sete lâmpadas deverão iluminar a área em frente ao candelabro.’”
- 3
Arão fez assim. Ele acendeu as lâmpadas para iluminar a área em frente ao candelabro, como o SENHOR havia ordenado a Moisés.
- 4
Esta era a obra do candelabro: ouro batido. Desde a sua base até as suas flores, era obra batida. Ele fez o candelabro de acordo com o modelo que o SENHOR havia mostrado a Moisés.

O SENHOR falou a Moisés, dizendo:
- 6
“Tome os levitas do meio dos filhos de Israel e purifique-os.
- 7
Você fará o seguinte para purificá-los: asperja sobre eles a água da purificação; faça com que raspem todo o corpo com navalha, lavem as suas roupas e purifiquem a si mesmos.
- 8
Então, que eles peguem um novilho e a sua oferta de cereais, flor de farinha misturada com óleo; e você pegará outro novilho para oferta pelo pecado.
- 9
Você apresentará os levitas diante da Tenda do Encontro. Você reunirá toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel.
- 10
Você apresentará os levitas diante do SENHOR. Os filhos de Israel imporão as suas mãos sobre os levitas,
- 11
e Arão oferecerá os levitas diante do SENHOR como oferta movida da parte dos filhos de Israel, para que eles possam realizar o serviço do SENHOR.
- 12
“Os levitas imporão as mãos sobre as cabeças dos novilhos, e você oferecerá um como oferta pelo pecado e o outro como holocausto ao SENHOR, para fazer expiação pelos levitas.
- 13
Você colocará os levitas diante de Arão e diante dos seus filhos, e os oferecerá como oferta movida ao SENHOR.
- 14
Assim você separará os levitas do meio dos filhos de Israel, e os levitas serão meus.
- 15
“Depois disso, os levitas entrarão para realizar o serviço da Tenda do Encontro. Você os purificará e os oferecerá como oferta movida.
- 16
Pois eles me são inteiramente dados do meio dos filhos de Israel; em lugar de todos os que abrem o ventre, ou seja, os primogênitos de todos os filhos de Israel, eu os tomei para mim.
- 17
Pois todos os primogênitos entre os filhos de Israel são meus, tanto homens quanto animais. No dia em que feri todos os primogênitos na terra do Egito, eu os santifiquei para mim.

Eu tomei os levitas em lugar de todos os primogênitos entre os filhos de Israel.
- 19
Eu dei os levitas como dádiva a Arão e aos seus filhos do meio dos filhos de Israel, para realizarem o serviço dos filhos de Israel na Tenda do Encontro e para fazerem expiação pelos filhos de Israel, a fim de que não haja praga entre os filhos de Israel quando os filhos de Israel se aproximarem do santuário.”

Moisés, Arão e toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel fizeram assim com os levitas. De acordo com tudo o que o SENHOR ordenou a Moisés a respeito dos levitas, assim os filhos de Israel fizeram a eles.
- 21
Os levitas se purificaram do pecado e lavaram as suas roupas; e Arão os ofereceu como oferta movida diante do SENHOR, e Arão fez expiação por eles para purificá-los.

Depois disso, os levitas entraram para realizar o seu serviço na Tenda do Encontro, diante de Arão e diante dos seus filhos. Como o SENHOR havia ordenado a Moisés a respeito dos levitas, assim fizeram com eles.

O SENHOR falou a Moisés, dizendo:
- 24
“Isto é o que foi designado aos levitas: de vinte e cinco anos para cima, eles entrarão para servir no trabalho da Tenda do Encontro;
- 25
e aos cinquenta anos de idade, eles se retirarão do trabalho e não servirão mais,
- 26
mas ajudarão os seus irmãos na Tenda do Encontro no cumprimento de seus deveres, e não realizarão o serviço em si. É assim que você fará com os levitas em relação aos seus deveres.”
