Eu vi um novo céu e uma nova terra, pois o primeiro céu e a primeira terra passaram, e o mar já não existe mais.

Vi a cidade santa, Nova Jerusalém, descendo do céu vindo de Deus, preparada como uma noiva adornada para seu marido.

Ouvi uma voz alta do céu dizendo: “Eis que a morada de Deus está com as pessoas; e ele habitará com elas, e elas serão seu povo, e o próprio Deus estará com elas como seu Deus”.

Ele enxugará de seus olhos toda lágrima. A morte não será mais; não haverá mais luto, nem pranto, nem choro, nem dor. As primeiras coisas já passaram”.

Aquele que está sentado no trono disse: “Eis que estou fazendo novas todas as coisas”. Ele disse: “Escreva, pois estas palavras de Deus são fiéis e verdadeiras”.

Ele me disse: “ Eu sou o Alfa e o Ômega, o Princípio e o Fim”. Darei livremente a Ele que tem sede da fonte da água da vida”.

Aquele que vencer, eu lhe darei estas coisas”. Eu serei seu Deus, e ele será meu filho.

Mas para os covardes, descrentes, pecadores, abomináveis, assassinos, sexualmente imorais, feiticeiros, idólatras, e todos os mentirosos, sua parte está no lago que arde com fogo e enxofre, que é a segunda morte”.

Um dos sete anjos que tinham as sete taças que estavam carregadas com as sete últimas pragas chegou e falou comigo, dizendo: “Venha aqui”. Eu lhe mostrarei a noiva, a esposa do Cordeiro”.

Ele me levou no Espírito a uma grande e alta montanha, e me mostrou a cidade santa, Jerusalém, descendo do céu vindo de Deus,

tendo a glória de Deus. Sua luz era como uma pedra preciosíssima, como uma pedra de jaspe, clara como cristal;
- 12
tendo um grande e alto muro com doze portões, e nos portões doze anjos, e nomes escritos neles, que são os nomes das doze tribos dos filhos de Israel.

No leste havia três portões, e no norte três portões, e no sul três portões, e no oeste três portões.

O muro da cidade tinha doze fundações, e sobre elas doze nomes dos doze Apóstolos do Cordeiro.

Aquele que falou comigo tinha por medida uma cana de ouro para medir a cidade, seus portões e suas muralhas.

A cidade é quadrada. Seu comprimento é tão grande quanto sua largura. Ele mediu a cidade com a palheta: doze mil doze estádios. Seu comprimento, largura e altura são iguais.

Sua muralha é de cento e quarenta e quatro côvados, pela medida de um homem, ou seja, de um anjo.

A construção de sua muralha foi jaspe. A cidade era de ouro puro, como vidro puro.

As fundações da muralha da cidade foram adornadas com todos os tipos de pedras preciosas. A primeira fundação era jaspe, a segunda safira; a terceira calcedônia, a quarta esmeralda,

a quinta sardônica, a sexta sardônica, o sexto sárdio, o sétimo crisólito, o oitavo berilo, o nono topázio, o décimo crisoprásio, o décimo primeiro jacinto e a décima segunda ametista.

Os doze portões eram doze pérolas. Cada um dos portões era feito de uma pérola. A rua da cidade era de ouro puro, como vidro transparente.

Não vi nenhum templo nele, pois o Senhor Deus Todo-Poderoso e o Cordeiro são seu templo.

A cidade não precisa do sol ou da lua para brilhar, pois a glória de Deus a iluminou e sua lâmpada é o Cordeiro.

As nações caminharão em sua luz. Os reis da terra trazem a glória e a honra das nações para dentro dela.
- 25
Suas portas não estarão fechadas de forma alguma durante o dia (pois não haverá noite lá),
- 26
e trarão a glória e a honra das nações para que elas possam entrar.
- 27
De forma alguma entrará nela nada profano, ou alguém que cause abominação ou mentira, mas somente aqueles que estão escritos no livro da vida do Cordeiro.

I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth have passed away, and the sea is no more.

I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.

I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with people; and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
- 4
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more. The first things have passed away.”

He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” He said, “Write, for these words of God are faithful and true.”

He said to me, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give freely to him who is thirsty from the spring of the water of life.

He who overcomes, I will give him these things. I will be his God, and he will be my son.
- 8
But for the cowardly, unbelieving, sinners, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls which were loaded with the seven last plagues came, and he spoke with me, saying, “Come here. I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.”

He carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,
- 11
having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
- 12
having a great and high wall with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.

On the east were three gates, and on the north three gates, and on the south three gates, and on the west three gates.

The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb.

He who spoke with me had for a measure a golden reed to measure the city, its gates, and its walls.

The city is square. Its length is as great as its width. He measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand twelve stadia. Its length, width, and height are equal.

Its wall is one hundred forty-four cubits, by the measure of a man, that is, of an angel.
- 18
The construction of its wall was jasper. The city was pure gold, like pure glass.
- 19
The foundations of the city’s wall were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,

the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.

The twelve gates were twelve pearls. Each one of the gates was made of one pearl. The street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
- 23
The city has no need for the sun or moon to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it and its lamp is the Lamb.
- 24
The nations will walk in its light. The kings of the earth bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.
- 25
Its gates will in no way be shut by day (for there will be no night there),
- 26
and they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it so that they may enter.
- 27
There will in no way enter into it anything profane, or one who causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
