“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” diz Yahweh.

Portanto Yahweh, o Deus de Israel, diz contra os pastores que alimentam meu povo: “Vocês dispersaram meu rebanho, os expulsaram e não os visitaram”. Eis que eu visitarei sobre vós o mal de vossos feitos”, diz Javé.

“Reunirei o resto do meu rebanho de todos os países para onde os expulsei, e os trarei novamente aos seus rebanhos; e eles serão fecundos e se multiplicarão”.

“Montarei sobre eles pastores que os alimentarão. Eles não terão mais medo ou consternação, nem faltará nenhum”, diz Yahweh.

“Eis que os dias vêm”, diz Yahweh, “que levantarei para David um ramo justo”; e ele reinará como rei e negociará sabiamente, e executará a justiça e a retidão na terra.

Em seus dias, Judah será salvo, e Israel habitará em segurança. Este é seu nome pelo qual ele será chamado: Yahweh nossa retidão.

“Portanto, eis que vêm os dias”, diz Javé, “que não dirão mais: 'Como Javé vive, que criou os filhos de Israel fora da terra do Egito;

mas, 'Como Javé vive, que criou e conduziu a descendência da casa de Israel para fora do país do norte, e de todos os países onde eu os havia expulsado'. Então eles morarão em suas próprias terras”.

Com relação aos profetas: Meu coração dentro de mim está partido. Todos os meus ossos tremem. Eu sou como um homem bêbado, e como um homem que o vinho superou, por causa de Yahweh, e por causa de suas palavras sagradas.

“Pois a terra está cheia de adúlteros; por causa da maldição que a terra chora. As pastagens da região selvagem secaram. O curso deles é maligno, e seu poder não está certo;

tanto para profeta quanto para sacerdote são profanos. Sim, em minha casa encontrei a maldade deles”, diz Yahweh.

Portanto, seu caminho será para eles como lugares escorregadios na escuridão. Eles serão levados adiante, e cair nela; pois eu trarei o mal sobre eles, mesmo no ano de sua visitação”, diz Yahweh.

“Eu tenho visto loucura nos profetas de Samaria. Eles foram profetizados por Baal, e fez com que meu povo Israel se equivocasse.

Nos profetas de Jerusalém eu também vi uma coisa horrível: eles cometem adultério e andam em mentiras. Eles fortalecem as mãos dos malfeitores, para que ninguém retorne de sua maldade. Todos eles se tornaram para mim como Sodoma, e seus habitantes como Gomorra”.

Portanto Yahweh dos Exércitos diz a respeito dos profetas: “Eis que eu os alimentarei com absinto, e fazê-los beber água envenenada; pois dos profetas de Jerusalém, a impiedade saiu por toda a terra”.

diz Yahweh dos Exércitos, “Não ouçam as palavras dos profetas que profetizam a vocês. Eles lhe ensinam a vaidade. Eles falam de uma visão de seu próprio coração, e não da boca de Yahweh.

Dizem continuamente para aqueles que me desprezam, Yahweh disse: “Você terá paz”; e a todos que caminham na teimosia de seu próprio coração, dizem eles, “Nenhum mal virá sobre você”.

Para quem já esteve no conselho de Yahweh, que ele deve perceber e ouvir sua palavra? Quem ouviu a minha palavra e a ouviu?

Eis que a tempestade de Yahweh, sua fúria, se extinguiu. Sim, uma tempestade rodopiante! Ela vai estourar na cabeça dos ímpios.

A raiva de Yahweh não voltará até que ele tenha executado e realizou os intentos de seu coração. Nos últimos dias, você o entenderá perfeitamente.

Eu não enviei esses profetas, mas eles correram. Eu não falei com eles, mas eles profetizaram.

Mas se eles tivessem participado de meu conselho, então eles teriam feito com que meu povo ouvisse minhas palavras, e os teria desviado de seu mau caminho, e do mal de suas ações.

“Sou um Deus à mão”, diz Yahweh, “e não um Deus longe?

Qualquer pessoa pode se esconder em lugares secretos para que eu não possa vê-lo...” diz Yahweh. “Eu não encho o céu e a terra?” diz Yahweh.

“Eu ouvi o que os profetas disseram, que profetizam mentiras em meu nome, dizendo: 'Eu tive um sonho! Eu tive um sonho!

Por quanto tempo isso ficará no coração dos profetas que profetizam mentiras, mesmo os profetas do engano de seu próprio coração?

Eles pretendem fazer com que meu povo esqueça meu nome pelos sonhos que cada um conta ao seu próximo, como seus pais esqueceram meu nome por causa de Baal.

O profeta que tem um sonho, deixe-o contar um sonho; e aquele que tem minha palavra, deixe-o falar minha palavra fielmente. O que é a palha para o trigo?” diz Javé.

“Não é minha palavra como fogo?” diz Yahweh; “e como um martelo que quebra a rocha em pedaços?

“Portanto, eis que sou contra os profetas”, diz Javé, “que cada um rouba minhas palavras de seu próximo”.

“Eis que sou contra os profetas”, diz Javé, “que usam a língua, e dizem: 'Ele diz'”.
- 32
Eis que sou contra aqueles que profetizam sonhos mentirosos”, diz Yahweh, “que lhes dizem, e fazem meu povo errar por suas mentiras, e por sua vanglória jactância; contudo, eu não os enviei nem os comandei. Eles não lucram nada com este povo”, diz Yahweh.

“Quando este povo, ou o profeta, ou um padre, lhe pergunta, dizendo: “Qual é a mensagem de Javé? Então você lhes dirá: ““Que mensagem? Eu o rejeitarei”, diz Yahweh'.

Quanto ao profeta, ao sacerdote e ao povo, que dizem: 'A mensagem de Iavé', castigarei até mesmo aquele homem e sua casa.

Você dirá todos ao seu próximo, e todos ao seu irmão, 'O que Javé respondeu?' e, 'O que Javé disse?

Você não mencionará mais a mensagem de Javé, pois a própria palavra de cada homem se tornou sua mensagem; pois você perverteu as palavras do Deus vivo, de Javé dos Exércitos, nosso Deus.

Você dirá ao profeta: 'O que Javé lhe respondeu?' e: 'O que Javé falou?

Embora você diga: 'A mensagem de Javé', portanto Javé diz: 'Porque você diz esta palavra, “A mensagem de Javé”, e eu lhe enviei, dizendo-lhe para não dizer: “A mensagem de Javé”,

portanto eis que eu o esquecerei totalmente, e o expulsarei com a cidade que lhe dei e a seus pais, longe de minha presença.

trarei sobre vós uma eterna reprovação e uma eterna vergonha, que não será esquecida”.

Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, says against the shepherds who feed my people: “You have scattered my flock, driven them away, and have not visited them. Behold, I will visit on you the evil of your doings,” says the LORD.

“I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they will be fruitful and multiply.

I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them. They will no longer be afraid or dismayed, neither will any be lacking,” says the LORD.

“Behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that I will raise to David a righteous Branch; and he will reign as king and deal wisely, and will execute justice and righteousness in the land.

In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely. This is his name by which he will be called: The LORD our righteousness.
- 7
“Therefore, behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that they will no more say, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;’
- 8
but, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up and who led the offspring of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ Then they will dwell in their own land.”

Concerning the prophets: My heart within me is broken. All my bones shake. I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine has overcome, because of the LORD, and because of his holy words.

“For the land is full of adulterers; for because of the curse the land mourns. The pastures of the wilderness have dried up. Their course is evil, and their might is not right;
- 11
for both prophet and priest are profane. Yes, in my house I have found their wickedness,” says the LORD.

Therefore their way will be to them as slippery places in the darkness. They will be driven on, and fall therein; for I will bring evil on them, even the year of their visitation,” says the LORD.

“I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria. They prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.
- 14
In the prophets of Jerusalem I have also seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery and walk in lies. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one returns from his wickedness. They have all become to me as Sodom, and its inhabitants as Gomorrah.”

Therefore the LORD of Armies says concerning the prophets: “Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink poisoned water; for from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has gone out into all the land.”

The LORD of Armies says, “Don’t listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They teach you vanity. They speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.

They say continually to those who despise me, ‘The LORD has said, “You will have peace;”’ and to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, ‘No evil will come on you.’

For who has stood in the council of the LORD, that he should perceive and hear his word? Who has listened to my word, and heard it?

Behold, the LORD’s storm, his wrath, has gone out. Yes, a whirling storm! It will burst on the head of the wicked.

The LORD’s anger will not return until he has executed and performed the intents of his heart. In the latter days, you will understand it perfectly.

I didn’t send these prophets, yet they ran. I didn’t speak to them, yet they prophesied.
- 22
But if they had stood in my council, then they would have caused my people to hear my words, and would have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.

“Am I a God at hand,” says the LORD, “and not a God afar off?
- 24
Can anyone hide himself in secret places so that I can’t see him?” says the LORD. “Don’t I fill heaven and earth?” says the LORD.

“I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, ‘I had a dream! I had a dream!’
- 26
How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart?

They intend to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they each tell his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name because of Baal.

The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; and he who has my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat?” says the LORD.

“Isn’t my word like fire?” says the LORD; “and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

“Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” says the LORD, “who each steal my words from his neighbor.
- 31
Behold, I am against the prophets,” says the LORD, “who use their tongues, and say, ‘He says.’
- 32
Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams,” says the LORD, “who tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting; yet I didn’t send them or command them. They don’t profit this people at all,” says the LORD.

“When this people, or the prophet, or a priest, asks you, saying, ‘What is the message from the LORD?’ Then you shall tell them, ‘“What message? I will cast you off,” says the LORD.’

As for the prophet, the priest, and the people, who say, ‘The message from the LORD,’ I will even punish that man and his household.
- 35
You will say everyone to his neighbor, and everyone to his brother, ‘What has the LORD answered?’ and, ‘What has the LORD said?’

You will mention the message from the LORD no more, for every man’s own word has become his message; for you have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of Armies, our God.

You will say to the prophet, ‘What has the LORD answered you?’ and, ‘What has the LORD spoken?’

Although you say, ‘The message from the LORD,’ therefore the LORD says: ‘Because you say this word, “The message from the LORD,” and I have sent to you, telling you not to say, “The message from the LORD,”

therefore behold, I will utterly forget you, and I will cast you off with the city that I gave to you and to your fathers, away from my presence.
- 40
I will bring an everlasting reproach on you, and a perpetual shame, which will not be forgotten.’”
