“Ai dos pastores que destroem e dispersam as ovelhas do meu pasto!”, diz o SENHOR.

Portanto, assim diz o SENHOR, o Deus de Israel, contra os pastores que apascentam o meu povo: “Vocês dispersaram o meu rebanho, os afugentaram e não cuidaram deles. Eis que eu castigarei vocês pela maldade das suas ações”, diz o SENHOR.

“Eu mesmo reunirei o remanescente do meu rebanho de todos os países para onde os expulsei, e os trarei de volta aos seus apriscos; e eles serão fecundos e se multiplicarão.

Levantarei sobre eles pastores que os apascentarão. Eles não terão mais medo nem ficarão apavorados, e nenhum deles faltará”, diz o SENHOR.

“Eis que vêm dias”, diz o SENHOR, “em que levantarei a Davi um Renovo justo; e ele reinará como rei e agirá com sabedoria, e executará o juízo e a justiça na terra.

Em seus dias, Judá será salvo, e Israel habitará em segurança. Este é o nome pelo qual ele será chamado: O SENHOR, Nossa Justiça.

“Portanto, eis que vêm dias”, diz o SENHOR, “em que não dirão mais: 'Tão certo como vive o SENHOR, que tirou os filhos de Israel da terra do Egito';

mas sim: 'Tão certo como vive o SENHOR, que tirou e conduziu a descendência da casa de Israel da terra do norte, e de todos os países para onde eu os havia expulsado.' Então eles habitarão na sua própria terra.”

A respeito dos profetas: O meu coração está quebrantado dentro de mim. Todos os meus ossos tremem. Sou como um homem embriagado, e como um homem dominado pelo vinho, por causa do SENHOR, e por causa das suas santas palavras.

“Pois a terra está cheia de adúlteros; por causa da maldição a terra pranteia. As pastagens do deserto secaram. O caminho deles é mau, e o seu poder não é justo;

pois tanto o profeta quanto o sacerdote são profanos. Sim, até na minha casa encontrei a maldade deles”, diz o SENHOR.

“Portanto, o caminho deles será como lugares escorregadios na escuridão. Eles serão empurrados, e ali cairão; pois trarei o mal sobre eles, no ano da sua visitação”, diz o SENHOR.

“Vi loucura nos profetas de Samaria. Eles profetizaram por Baal, e fizeram o meu povo Israel errar.
- 14
Nos profetas de Jerusalém também vi uma coisa horrível: eles cometem adultério e andam em mentiras. Eles fortalecem as mãos dos malfeitores, para que ninguém se desvie da sua maldade. Todos eles se tornaram para mim como Sodoma, e os seus habitantes como Gomorra.”

Portanto, assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos a respeito dos profetas: “Eis que os alimentarei com absinto, e lhes darei de beber água envenenada; pois dos profetas de Jerusalém a impiedade se espalhou por toda a terra.”

Assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos: “Não deem ouvidos às palavras dos profetas que profetizam a vocês. Eles ensinam vaidades a vocês. Eles falam de uma visão do seu próprio coração, e não da boca do SENHOR.

Eles dizem continuamente aos que me desprezam: 'O SENHOR disse: “Vocês terão paz”'; e a todo aquele que anda na obstinação do seu próprio coração, eles dizem: 'Nenhum mal virá sobre vocês.'

Pois quem esteve no conselho do SENHOR, para que pudesse perceber e ouvir a sua palavra? Quem prestou atenção à minha palavra, e a ouviu?

Eis que a tempestade do SENHOR, a sua ira, saiu. Sim, um redemoinho! Ele desabará sobre a cabeça dos ímpios.

A ira do SENHOR não retrocederá até que ele tenha executado e cumprido os propósitos do seu coração. Nos últimos dias, vocês entenderão isso perfeitamente.

Eu não enviei esses profetas, mas eles correram. Eu não falei com eles, mas eles profetizaram.

Mas se eles tivessem estado no meu conselho, então teriam feito o meu povo ouvir as minhas palavras, e os teriam desviado do seu mau caminho, e da maldade das suas ações.

“Sou eu um Deus apenas de perto”, diz o SENHOR, “e não um Deus de longe?
- 24
Pode alguém se esconder em lugares secretos para que eu não o veja?”, diz o SENHOR. “Não encho eu os céus e a terra?”, diz o SENHOR.

“Eu ouvi o que disseram os profetas que profetizam mentiras em meu nome, dizendo: 'Eu tive um sonho! Eu tive um sonho!'

Até quando isso estará no coração dos profetas que profetizam mentiras, sim, os profetas do engano do seu próprio coração?

Eles têm a intenção de fazer o meu povo esquecer o meu nome com os seus sonhos que cada um conta ao seu próximo, assim como os seus pais esqueceram o meu nome por causa de Baal.

O profeta que tem um sonho, que conte o sonho; e aquele que tem a minha palavra, que fale a minha palavra com fidelidade. O que tem a palha a ver com o trigo?”, diz o SENHOR.

“Não é a minha palavra como o fogo?”, diz o SENHOR; “e como um martelo que despedaça a rocha?

“Portanto, eis que eu sou contra os profetas”, diz o SENHOR, “que roubam as minhas palavras cada um do seu próximo.
- 31
Eis que eu sou contra os profetas”, diz o SENHOR, “que usam as suas línguas e dizem: 'Ele diz.'
- 32
Eis que eu sou contra aqueles que profetizam sonhos mentirosos”, diz o SENHOR, “que os contam e fazem o meu povo errar com as suas mentiras e com a sua vã arrogância; contudo, eu não os enviei nem lhes dei ordem alguma. Eles não trazem proveito nenhum a este povo”, diz o SENHOR.

“Quando este povo, ou um profeta, ou um sacerdote, perguntar a você, dizendo: 'Qual é a mensagem do SENHOR?' Então você lhes dirá: '“Que mensagem? Eu os rejeitarei”, diz o SENHOR.'

Quanto ao profeta, ao sacerdote e ao povo que disser: 'A mensagem do SENHOR', eu castigarei esse homem e a sua casa.

Assim dirá cada um ao seu próximo, e cada um ao seu irmão: 'O que o SENHOR respondeu?' e, 'O que o SENHOR falou?'

Vocês não mencionarão mais a mensagem do SENHOR, pois a própria palavra de cada homem se tornou a sua mensagem; porque vocês perverteram as palavras do Deus vivo, do SENHOR dos Exércitos, o nosso Deus.

Assim você dirá ao profeta: 'O que o SENHOR lhe respondeu?' e, 'O que o SENHOR falou?'

Mas, se vocês disserem: 'A mensagem do SENHOR', portanto, assim diz o SENHOR: 'Porque vocês dizem esta palavra: “A mensagem do SENHOR”, e eu mandei dizer a vocês que não dissessem: “A mensagem do SENHOR”,

portanto, eis que eu me esquecerei totalmente de vocês, e os rejeitarei, junto com a cidade que dei a vocês e aos seus pais, para longe da minha presença.

Trarei sobre vocês uma desonra eterna e uma vergonha perpétua, que não serão esquecidas.'”

“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” says the LORD.

Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, says against the shepherds who feed my people: “You have scattered my flock, driven them away, and have not visited them. Behold, I will visit on you the evil of your doings,” says the LORD.

“I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they will be fruitful and multiply.
- 4
I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them. They will no longer be afraid or dismayed, neither will any be lacking,” says the LORD.

“Behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that I will raise to David a righteous Branch; and he will reign as king and deal wisely, and will execute justice and righteousness in the land.

In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely. This is his name by which he will be called: The LORD our righteousness.
- 7
“Therefore, behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that they will no more say, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;’
- 8
but, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up and who led the offspring of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ Then they will dwell in their own land.”

Concerning the prophets: My heart within me is broken. All my bones shake. I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine has overcome, because of the LORD, and because of his holy words.

“For the land is full of adulterers; for because of the curse the land mourns. The pastures of the wilderness have dried up. Their course is evil, and their might is not right;
- 11
for both prophet and priest are profane. Yes, in my house I have found their wickedness,” says the LORD.

Therefore their way will be to them as slippery places in the darkness. They will be driven on, and fall therein; for I will bring evil on them, even the year of their visitation,” says the LORD.

“I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria. They prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.
- 14
In the prophets of Jerusalem I have also seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery and walk in lies. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one returns from his wickedness. They have all become to me as Sodom, and its inhabitants as Gomorrah.”

Therefore the LORD of Armies says concerning the prophets: “Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink poisoned water; for from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has gone out into all the land.”

The LORD of Armies says, “Don’t listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They teach you vanity. They speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.

They say continually to those who despise me, ‘The LORD has said, “You will have peace;”’ and to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, ‘No evil will come on you.’

For who has stood in the council of the LORD, that he should perceive and hear his word? Who has listened to my word, and heard it?
- 19
Behold, the LORD’s storm, his wrath, has gone out. Yes, a whirling storm! It will burst on the head of the wicked.

The LORD’s anger will not return until he has executed and performed the intents of his heart. In the latter days, you will understand it perfectly.

I didn’t send these prophets, yet they ran. I didn’t speak to them, yet they prophesied.
- 22
But if they had stood in my council, then they would have caused my people to hear my words, and would have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.

“Am I a God at hand,” says the LORD, “and not a God afar off?
- 24
Can anyone hide himself in secret places so that I can’t see him?” says the LORD. “Don’t I fill heaven and earth?” says the LORD.

“I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, ‘I had a dream! I had a dream!’
- 26
How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart?
- 27
They intend to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they each tell his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name because of Baal.

The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; and he who has my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat?” says the LORD.

“Isn’t my word like fire?” says the LORD; “and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
- 30
“Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” says the LORD, “who each steal my words from his neighbor.
- 31
Behold, I am against the prophets,” says the LORD, “who use their tongues, and say, ‘He says.’
- 32
Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams,” says the LORD, “who tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting; yet I didn’t send them or command them. They don’t profit this people at all,” says the LORD.

“When this people, or the prophet, or a priest, asks you, saying, ‘What is the message from the LORD?’ Then you shall tell them, ‘“What message? I will cast you off,” says the LORD.’

As for the prophet, the priest, and the people, who say, ‘The message from the LORD,’ I will even punish that man and his household.
- 35
You will say everyone to his neighbor, and everyone to his brother, ‘What has the LORD answered?’ and, ‘What has the LORD said?’

You will mention the message from the LORD no more, for every man’s own word has become his message; for you have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of Armies, our God.

You will say to the prophet, ‘What has the LORD answered you?’ and, ‘What has the LORD spoken?’

Although you say, ‘The message from the LORD,’ therefore the LORD says: ‘Because you say this word, “The message from the LORD,” and I have sent to you, telling you not to say, “The message from the LORD,”

therefore behold, I will utterly forget you, and I will cast you off with the city that I gave to you and to your fathers, away from my presence.
- 40
I will bring an everlasting reproach on you, and a perpetual shame, which will not be forgotten.’”
