A palavra do SENHOR que veio a Oseias, filho de Beeri, nos dias de Uzias, Jotão, Acaz e Ezequias, reis de Judá, e nos dias de Jeroboão, filho de Joás, rei de Israel.

Quando o SENHOR falou pela primeira vez por meio de Oseias, o SENHOR disse a Oseias: “Vá, tome para você uma mulher de prostituição e filhos de infidelidade; porque a terra comete grande adultério, abandonando o SENHOR.”

Então ele foi e tomou Gômer, filha de Diblaim; e ela concebeu, e lhe deu à luz um filho.

O SENHOR lhe disse: “Dê-lhe o nome de Jezreel, pois daqui a pouco tempo vingarei o sangue de Jezreel sobre a casa de Jeú, e farei cessar o reino da casa de Israel.
- 5
Acontecerá naquele dia que quebrarei o arco de Israel no vale de Jezreel.”

Ela concebeu novamente, e deu à luz uma filha. Então ele lhe disse: “Dê-lhe o nome de Lo-Ruama, pois não terei mais misericórdia da casa de Israel, para que eu os perdoe de alguma forma.
- 7
Mas terei misericórdia da casa de Judá, e os salvarei pelo SENHOR seu Deus, e não os salvarei por arco, espada, batalha, cavalos ou cavaleiros.”

Depois de ter desmamado Lo-Ruama, ela concebeu e deu à luz um filho.

Ele disse: “Dê-lhe o nome de Lo-Ami, pois vocês não são meu povo, e eu não serei de vocês.

Contudo, o número dos filhos de Israel será como a areia do mar, que não pode ser medida nem contada; e acontecerá que, no lugar onde lhes foi dito: ‘Vocês não são meu povo’, eles serão chamados ‘filhos do Deus vivo’.

Os filhos de Judá e os filhos de Israel serão reunidos, e nomearão para si um único cabeça, e subirão da terra; pois grande será o dia de Jezreel.

The LORD’s word that came to Hosea the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.

When the LORD spoke at first by Hosea, the LORD said to Hosea, “Go, take for yourself a wife of prostitution and children of unfaithfulness; for the land commits great adultery, forsaking the LORD.”

So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; and she conceived, and bore him a son.

The LORD said to him, “Call his name Jezreel, for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel on the house of Jehu, and will cause the kingdom of the house of Israel to cease.

It will happen in that day that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.”

She conceived again, and bore a daughter. Then he said to him, “Call her name Lo-Ruhamah, for I will no longer have mercy on the house of Israel, that I should in any way pardon them.

But I will have mercy on the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, sword, battle, horses, or horsemen.”

Now when she had weaned Lo-Ruhamah, she conceived, and bore a son.

He said, “Call his name Lo-Ammi, for you are not my people, and I will not be yours.
- 10
Yet the number of the children of Israel will be as the sand of the sea, which can’t be measured or counted; and it will come to pass that, in the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’

The children of Judah and the children of Israel will be gathered together, and they will appoint themselves one head, and will go up from the land; for great will be the day of Jezreel.
