Gênesis 6
O mundo enche-se, e também a sua corrupção. Uniões estranhas entre "os filhos de Deus" e as filhas dos homens, os Nefilins, um prazo encurtado de 120 anos, e então um veredicto direto: a maldade humana era grande e "toda a imaginação dos pensamentos do coração do homem era só má continuamente" (v.5). O SENHOR entristece-se por ter feito o homem. Contra a sentença de destruir ergue-se uma única cláusula: "Mas Noé achou graça" (v.8). Note-se a viragem do juízo universal para uma só família resgatada e as instruções bem concretas que se seguem.

Quando os homens começaram a se multiplicar sobre a face da terra, e lhes nasceram filhas,

os filhos de Deus viram que as filhas dos homens eram bonitas, e tomaram para si esposas, todas as que escolheram.

O SENHOR disse: “Meu Espírito não contenderá com o homem para sempre, porque ele também é carne; portanto, os seus dias serão cento e vinte anos.”

Os nefilins estavam na terra naqueles dias, e também depois disso, quando os filhos de Deus se uniram às filhas dos homens e tiveram filhos com elas. Estes foram os valentes da antiguidade, homens de renome.

O SENHOR viu que a maldade do homem era grande na terra, e que toda imaginação dos pensamentos do seu coração era continuamente apenas má.

O SENHOR se arrependeu de ter feito o homem na terra, e isso o entristeceu em seu coração.

O SENHOR disse: “Destruirei da face da terra o homem que criei — o homem, junto com os animais, os répteis e as aves do céu — pois me arrependo de tê-los feito.”

Mas Noé encontrou favor aos olhos do SENHOR.

Esta é a história das gerações de Noé: Noé era um homem justo, irrepreensível entre as pessoas do seu tempo. Noé andava com Deus.

Noé tornou-se pai de três filhos: Sem, Cam e Jafé.

A terra estava corrompida diante de Deus, e a terra estava cheia de violência.

Deus viu a terra, e viu que estava corrompida, pois toda a carne havia corrompido o seu caminho sobre a terra.

Deus disse a Noé: “Darei fim a toda a carne, pois a terra está cheia de violência por causa deles. Eis que os destruirei juntamente com a terra.

Faça uma arca de madeira de gofer. Você fará compartimentos na arca, e a revestirá com piche por dentro e por fora.
- 15
É assim que você a fará. O comprimento da arca será de trezentos côvados, sua largura de cinquenta côvados, e sua altura de trinta côvados.

Você fará um teto na arca, e a terminará a um côvado da parte de cima. Você colocará a porta da arca na sua lateral. Você a fará com um andar inferior, um segundo e um terceiro.

Eu, sim, eu mesmo, trarei o dilúvio de águas sobre esta terra, para destruir debaixo do céu toda a carne que tem o fôlego de vida. Tudo o que há na terra morrerá.

Mas eu estabelecerei a minha aliança com você. Você entrará na arca, você, seus filhos, sua esposa e as esposas de seus filhos com você.

De todo ser vivo de toda a carne, você trará dois de cada espécie para dentro da arca, para conservá-los vivos com você. Eles serão macho e fêmea.

Das aves segundo a sua espécie, do gado segundo a sua espécie, de todo réptil da terra segundo a sua espécie, dois de cada espécie virão a você, para conservá-los vivos.
- 21
Leve com você um pouco de toda comida que se come, e ajunte-a para si; e servirá de alimento para você e para eles.”

Assim fez Noé. Ele fez tudo o que Deus lhe ordenou.

When men began to multiply on the surface of the ground, and daughters were born to them,

God’s sons saw that men’s daughters were beautiful, and they took any that they wanted for themselves as wives.

The LORD said, “My Spirit will not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; so his days will be one hundred twenty years.”

The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when God’s sons came in to men’s daughters and had children with them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of man’s heart was continually only evil.

The LORD was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him in his heart.

The LORD said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the surface of the ground—man, along with animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky—for I am sorry that I have made them.”

But Noah found favor in the LORD’s eyes.

This is the history of the generations of Noah: Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time. Noah walked with God.

Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

The earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
- 12
God saw the earth, and saw that it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
- 13
God said to Noah, “I will bring an end to all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them and the earth.
- 14
Make a ship of gopher wood. You shall make rooms in the ship, and shall seal it inside and outside with pitch.
- 15
This is how you shall make it. The length of the ship shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.
- 16
You shall make a roof in the ship, and you shall finish it to a cubit upward. You shall set the door of the ship in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third levels.
- 17
I, even I, will bring the flood of waters on this earth, to destroy all flesh having the breath of life from under the sky. Everything that is in the earth will die.
- 18
But I will establish my covenant with you. You shall come into the ship, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.
- 19
Of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ship, to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female.
- 20
Of the birds after their kind, of the livestock after their kind, of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of every sort will come to you, to keep them alive.
- 21
Take with you some of all food that is eaten, and gather it to yourself; and it will be for food for you, and for them.”
- 22
Thus Noah did. He did all that God commanded him.
Um só homem, depois uma planta
Noé é chamado "justo" e "íntegro entre os da sua geração", que "andou com Deus" (v.9) - a mesma expressão usada de Enoque no capítulo 5. A terra, pelo contrário, está "cheia de violência".
O capítulo passa às medidas: madeira de gofer, trezentos côvados de comprimento, três andares, betume por dentro e por fora, uma porta ao lado, pares de cada criatura. A aliança do v.18 é a primeira vez que essa palavra surge no Génesis.
