No terceiro dia, houve um casamento em Caná da Galileia. A mãe de Jesus estava lá.

Jesus também foi convidado, com seus discípulos, para o casamento.

Quando o vinho acabou, a mãe de Jesus lhe disse: “Eles não têm vinho”.
- 4
Jesus disse a ela: “Mulher, o que isso tem a ver com você e comigo? Minha hora ainda não chegou”.

Sua mãe disse aos criados: “O que quer que ele diga a vocês, façam-no”.
- 6
Agora havia seis potes de água de pedra colocados ali após o modo de purificação dos judeus, contendo dois ou três metros cada um.

Jesus disse-lhes: “Encham os potes de água com água”. Então eles os encheram até a borda.
- 8
Ele disse a eles: “Agora, tira alguns para fora e leva-os ao soberano da festa”. Então, eles a levaram.

Quando a régua da festa provou a água agora se tornou vinho, e não sabia de onde vinha (mas os servos que haviam tirado a água sabiam), a régua da festa chamou o noivo
- 10
e lhe disse: “Todos servem o bom vinho primeiro, e quando os convidados bebem livremente, então o que é pior. Vocês guardaram o bom vinho até agora”!

Este início de seus sinais que Jesus fez em Caná da Galiléia, e revelou sua glória; e seus discípulos acreditaram nele.

Depois disso, ele foi para Cafarnaum, ele, sua mãe, seus irmãos e seus discípulos; e lá permaneceram alguns dias.

A Páscoa dos judeus estava próxima, e Jesus subiu a Jerusalém.

Ele encontrou no templo aqueles que vendiam bois, ovelhas e pombas, e os cambistas de dinheiro sentados.
- 15
Ele fez um chicote de cordas e expulsou todos do templo, tanto as ovelhas como os bois; e derramou o dinheiro dos cambistas e derrubou suas mesas.

Para aqueles que venderam as pombas, ele disse: “Tirem estas coisas daqui! Não faça da casa de meu Pai um mercado”!

Seus discípulos lembraram que estava escrito: “O zelo por sua casa vai me devorar”.
- 18
Os judeus responderam-lhe: “Que sinal você nos mostra, vendo que você faz essas coisas”?
- 19
Jesus lhes respondeu: “Destruam este templo, e em três dias eu o levantarei”.
- 20
Portanto, os judeus disseram: “Foram necessários quarenta e seis anos para construir este templo! Você vai erguê-lo em três dias”?
- 21
Mas ele falou sobre o templo de seu corpo.
- 22
Quando, portanto, ele ressuscitou dos mortos, seus discípulos se lembraram que ele disse isto, e acreditaram na Escritura e na palavra que Jesus havia dito.

Agora, quando ele estava em Jerusalém na Páscoa, durante a festa, muitos acreditavam em seu nome, observando seus sinais, o que ele fazia.

Mas Jesus não se confiou a eles, porque conhecia a todos,
- 25
e porque não precisava que ninguém testemunhasse a respeito do homem; pois ele mesmo sabia o que havia no homem.

The third day, there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there.

Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the wedding.

When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no wine.”

Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come.”

His mother said to the servants, “Whatever he says to you, do it.”
- 6
Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews’ way of purifying, containing two or three metretes apiece.
- 7
Jesus said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.” So they filled them up to the brim.
- 8
He said to them, “Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast.” So they took it.
- 9
When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn’t know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom
- 10
and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!”
- 11
This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

After this, he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, his brothers, and his disciples; and they stayed there a few days.

The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

He found in the temple those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, and the changers of money sitting.
- 15
He made a whip of cords and drove all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers’ money and overthrew their tables.
- 16
To those who sold the doves, he said, “Take these things out of here! Don’t make my Father’s house a marketplace!”
- 17
His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will eat me up.”
- 18
The Jews therefore answered him, “What sign do you show us, seeing that you do these things?”
- 19
Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
- 20
The Jews therefore said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple! Will you raise it up in three days?”
- 21
But he spoke of the temple of his body.
- 22
When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.

Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in his name, observing his signs which he did.
- 24
But Jesus didn’t entrust himself to them, because he knew everyone,
- 25
and because he didn’t need for anyone to testify concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.
