O SENHOR disse a Moisés: “Fale aos sacerdotes, os filhos de Arão, e diga-lhes: 'Um sacerdote não se contaminará por causa de um morto entre o seu povo,
- 2
exceto por seus parentes mais próximos: por sua mãe, por seu pai, por seu filho, por sua filha, por seu irmão,
- 3
e por sua irmã virgem, que lhe é próxima, que não teve marido; por ela ele pode se contaminar.
- 4
Ele não se contaminará, sendo um líder entre o seu povo, para não se profanar.
- 5
“'Eles não rasparão a cabeça, nem rasparão os cantos da barba, nem farão cortes em sua carne.
- 6
Eles serão santos para o seu Deus, e não profanarão o nome do seu Deus, pois oferecem as ofertas do SENHOR feitas no fogo, o pão do seu Deus. Portanto, serão santos.

“'Eles não se casarão com uma mulher que seja prostituta, ou profanada. Um sacerdote não se casará com uma mulher divorciada de seu marido; pois ele é santo para o seu Deus.
- 8
Portanto, você o santificará, pois ele oferece o pão do seu Deus. Ele será santo para você, pois eu, o SENHOR, que os santifico, sou santo.
- 9
“'A filha de qualquer sacerdote, se ela se profanar tornando-se prostituta, ela profana seu pai. Ela será queimada no fogo.
- 10
“'Aquele que é o sumo sacerdote entre seus irmãos, sobre cuja cabeça é derramado o óleo da unção, e que é consagrado para vestir as vestes, não deixará o cabelo de sua cabeça solto, nem rasgará suas roupas.
- 11
Ele não se aproximará de nenhum cadáver, nem se contaminará por seu pai ou por sua mãe.
- 12
Ele não sairá do santuário, nem profanará o santuário do seu Deus; pois a coroa do óleo da unção do seu Deus está sobre ele. Eu sou o SENHOR.
- 13
“'Ele tomará por esposa uma mulher em sua virgindade.
- 14
Ele não se casará com uma viúva, ou divorciada, ou uma mulher que foi profanada, ou uma prostituta. Ele tomará por esposa uma virgem do seu próprio povo.
- 15
Ele não profanará a sua descendência entre o seu povo, pois eu sou o SENHOR que o santifica.'”
- 16
O SENHOR falou a Moisés, dizendo:
- 17
“Diga a Arão: 'Nenhum dos seus descendentes, nas suas gerações, que tiver algum defeito, poderá se aproximar para oferecer o pão do seu Deus.
- 18
Pois nenhum homem que tenha algum defeito se aproximará: seja um homem cego, ou coxo, ou que tenha o nariz achatado, ou qualquer deformidade,
- 19
ou um homem que tenha o pé quebrado, ou a mão quebrada,
- 20
ou corcunda, ou anão, ou que tenha um defeito no olho, ou sarna, ou feridas, ou que tenha os testículos danificados.
- 21
Nenhum homem da descendência do sacerdote Arão que tenha algum defeito se aproximará para oferecer as ofertas do SENHOR feitas no fogo. Visto que ele tem um defeito, não se aproximará para oferecer o pão do seu Deus.
- 22
Ele poderá comer o pão do seu Deus, tanto das coisas santíssimas quanto das coisas santas.
- 23
Ele não se aproximará do véu, nem se aproximará do altar, porque tem um defeito; para que não profane os meus santuários, pois eu sou o SENHOR que os santifica.'”
- 24
Assim Moisés falou a Arão, aos seus filhos e a todos os filhos de Israel.

The LORD said to Moses, “Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them, ‘A priest shall not defile himself for the dead among his people,
- 2
except for his relatives that are near to him: for his mother, for his father, for his son, for his daughter, for his brother,
- 3
and for his virgin sister who is near to him, who has had no husband; for her he may defile himself.
- 4
He shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.
- 5
“‘They shall not shave their heads or shave off the corners of their beards or make any cuttings in their flesh.
- 6
They shall be holy to their God, and not profane the name of their God, for they offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire, the bread of their God. Therefore they shall be holy.
- 7
“‘They shall not marry a woman who is a prostitute, or profane. A priest shall not marry a woman divorced from her husband; for he is holy to his God.
- 8
Therefore you shall sanctify him, for he offers the bread of your God. He shall be holy to you, for I the LORD, who sanctify you, am holy.
- 9
“‘The daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by playing the prostitute, she profanes her father. She shall be burned with fire.
- 10
“‘He who is the high priest among his brothers, upon whose head the anointing oil is poured, and who is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not let the hair of his head hang loose, or tear his clothes.
- 11
He must not go in to any dead body, or defile himself for his father or for his mother.
- 12
He shall not go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him. I am the LORD.
- 13
“‘He shall take a wife in her virginity.
- 14
He shall not marry a widow, or one divorced, or a woman who has been defiled, or a prostitute. He shall take a virgin of his own people as a wife.
- 15
He shall not profane his offspring among his people, for I am the LORD who sanctifies him.’”
- 16
The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
- 17
“Say to Aaron, ‘None of your offspring throughout their generations who has a defect may approach to offer the bread of his God.
- 18
For whatever man he is that has a defect, he shall not draw near: a blind man, or a lame, or he who has a flat nose, or any deformity,
- 19
or a man who has an injured foot, or an injured hand,
- 20
or hunchbacked, or a dwarf, or one who has a defect in his eye, or an itching disease, or scabs, or who has damaged testicles.
- 21
No man of the offspring of Aaron the priest who has a defect shall come near to offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire. Since he has a defect, he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God.
- 22
He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.
- 23
He shall not come near to the veil, nor come near to the altar, because he has a defect; that he may not profane my sanctuaries, for I am the LORD who sanctifies them.’”
- 24
So Moses spoke to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel.
