This is the third time I am coming to you. “At the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.”

I have warned previously, and I warn again, as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, I write to those who have sinned before now and to all the rest that if I come again, I will not spare,

seeing that you seek a proof of Christ who speaks in me who is not weak, but is powerful in you.

For he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live with him through the power of God toward you.

Examine your own selves, whether you are in the faith. Test your own selves. Or don’t you know about your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.

But I hope that you will know that we aren’t disqualified.
- 7
Now I pray to God that you do no evil; not that we may appear approved, but that you may do that which is honorable, though we may seem to have failed.
- 8
For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
- 9
For we rejoice when we are weak and you are strong. We also pray for this: your becoming perfect.
- 10
For this cause I write these things while absent, that I may not deal sharply when present, according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.

Finally, brothers, rejoice! Be perfected. Be comforted. Be of the same mind. Live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.

Greet one another with a holy kiss.

All the saints greet you.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s love, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

Já avisei antes, e aviso novamente, como quando estive presente pela segunda vez, assim agora, estando ausente, escrevo aos que pecaram anteriormente e a todos os demais que, se eu for outra vez, não pouparei,

visto que vocês buscam uma prova de que Cristo fala em mim, o qual não é fraco, mas é poderoso em vocês.

Pois ele foi crucificado em fraqueza, contudo vive pelo poder de Deus. Pois nós também somos fracos nele, mas viveremos com ele pelo poder de Deus para com vocês.

Examinem a si mesmos, se estão na fé. Provem a si mesmos. Ou vocês não sabem quanto a si mesmos, que Jesus Cristo está em vocês? — a menos que, de fato, estejam reprovados.

Mas espero que saibam que nós não estamos reprovados.
- 7
Ora, oro a Deus para que vocês não façam mal algum; não para que nós pareçamos aprovados, mas para que vocês façam o que é honroso, embora possamos parecer ter falhado.

Pois nada podemos fazer contra a verdade, senão a favor da verdade.
- 9
Pois nos alegramos quando nós somos fracos e vocês são fortes. Também oramos por isto: o aperfeiçoamento de vocês.
- 10
Por esta causa escrevo estas coisas estando ausente, para que, quando presente, eu não aja com severidade, segundo a autoridade que o Senhor me deu para edificação e não para destruição.

Finalmente, irmãos, alegrem-se! Sejam aperfeiçoados. Sejam consolados. Tenham a mesma mente. Vivam em paz, e o Deus de amor e paz estará com vocês.

Saúdem uns aos outros com um beijo santo.

Todos os santos saúdam vocês.

A graça do Senhor Jesus Cristo, o amor de Deus, e a comunhão do Espírito Santo sejam com todos vocês. Amém.
