Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
2
to the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3
We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
4
having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love which you have toward all the saints,
5
because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the Good News
6
which has come to you, even as it is in all the world and is bearing fruit and growing, as it does in you also, since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth,
7
even as you learned from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on your behalf,
8
who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.
9
For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, don’t cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
10
that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God,
11
strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy,
12
giving thanks to the Father, who made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light,
13
who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love,
14
in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins.
15
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
16
For by him all things were created in the heavens and on the earth, visible things and invisible things, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things have been created through him and for him.
17
He is before all things, and in him all things are held together.
18
He is the head of the body, the assembly, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he might have the preeminence.
19
For all the fullness was pleased to dwell in him,
20
and through him to reconcile all things to himself by him, whether things on the earth or things in the heavens, having made peace through the blood of his cross.
21
You, being in past times alienated and enemies in your mind in your evil deeds,
22
yet now he has reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and without defect and blameless before him,
23
if it is so that you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the Good News which you heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, of which I, Paul, was made a servant.
24
Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the assembly,
25
of which I was made a servant according to the stewardship of God which was given me toward you to fulfill the word of God,
26
the mystery which has been hidden for ages and generations. But now it has been revealed to his saints,
27
to whom God was pleased to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
28
We proclaim him, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus;
29
for which I also labor, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.

Paulo, apóstolo de Cristo Jesus pela vontade de Deus, e Timóteo, nosso irmão,
2
aos santos e fiéis irmãos em Cristo em Colossos: Graça a vocês e paz da parte de Deus nosso Pai e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
3
Damos graças a Deus, o Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, orando sempre por vocês,
4
tendo ouvido da sua fé em Cristo Jesus e do amor que vocês têm para com todos os santos,
5
por causa da esperança que está reservada para vocês nos céus, da qual ouviram antes na palavra da verdade do Evangelho,
6
que chegou até vocês, assim como em todo o mundo está dando fruto e crescendo, como também ocorre entre vocês, desde o dia em que ouviram e conheceram a graça de Deus em verdade;
7
assim como aprenderam de Epafras, nosso amado conservo, que é um fiel servo de Cristo em seu favor,
8
o qual também nos declarou o amor de vocês no Espírito.
9
Por esta causa, nós também, desde o dia em que ouvimos isso, não cessamos de orar e fazer pedidos por vocês, para que sejam cheios do conhecimento da sua vontade, em toda sabedoria e entendimento espiritual,
10
para que vocês andem de modo digno do Senhor, para agradá-lo em tudo, dando fruto em toda boa obra e crescendo no conhecimento de Deus,
11
fortalecidos com todo o poder, segundo a força da sua glória, para toda a perseverança e paciência com alegria,
12
dando graças ao Pai, que nos tornou aptos para participar da herança dos santos na luz,
13
que nos libertou do poder das trevas e nos transportou para o Reino do Filho do seu amor,
14
em quem temos a nossa redenção, o perdão dos nossos pecados.
15
Ele é a imagem do Deus invisível, o primogênito de toda a criação.
16
Pois por ele todas as coisas foram criadas nos céus e na terra, as visíveis e as invisíveis, sejam tronos ou domínios, sejam principados ou poderes. Todas as coisas foram criadas por meio dele e para ele.
17
Ele é antes de todas as coisas, e nele todas as coisas subsistem.
18
Ele é a cabeça do corpo, a igreja, que é o princípio, o primogênito dentre os mortos, para que em todas as coisas ele tenha a primazia.
19
Pois foi do agrado de Deus que toda a plenitude habitasse nele,
20
e por meio dele reconciliar consigo mesmo todas as coisas, sejam as que estão na terra ou as que estão nos céus, tendo feito a paz pelo sangue da sua cruz.
21
Vocês, que no passado eram alienados e inimigos no entendimento devido às suas más obras,
22
agora, porém, ele os reconciliou no corpo da sua carne, mediante a morte, para apresentá-los santos, sem defeito e irrepreensíveis diante dele,
23
se de fato vocês continuarem na fé, fundamentados e firmes, e não se afastarem da esperança do Evangelho que ouviram, o qual foi proclamado em toda a criação debaixo do céu, e do qual eu, Paulo, fui feito servo.
24
Agora me alegro em meus sofrimentos por vocês, e preencho da minha parte o que falta das aflições de Cristo na minha carne, a favor do seu corpo, que é a igreja,
25
da qual fui feito servo, de acordo com a mordomia de Deus que me foi dada para com vocês, para cumprir a palavra de Deus,
26
o mistério que esteve oculto por épocas e gerações. Mas agora foi revelado aos seus santos,
27
a quem Deus quis dar a conhecer quais são as riquezas da glória deste mistério entre os gentios, que é Cristo em vocês, a esperança da glória.
28
Nós o proclamamos, advertindo a todo homem e ensinando a todo homem em toda a sabedoria, para que possamos apresentar todo homem perfeito em Cristo Jesus;
29
para o que também trabalho, esforçando-me segundo a sua operação, que atua em mim poderosamente.
