I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.

He seized the dragon, the old serpent, who is the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole inhabited earth, and bound him for a thousand years,

and cast him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more until the thousand years were finished. After this, he must be freed for a short time.

I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and such as didn’t worship the beast nor his image, and didn’t receive the mark on their forehead and on their hand. They lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

The rest of the dead didn’t live until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over these, the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with him one thousand years.

And after the thousand years, Satan will be released from his prison
- 8
and he will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war, whose number is as the sand of the sea.

They went up over the width of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. Fire came down out of heaven from God and devoured them.

The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are also. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

I saw a great white throne and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the sky fled away. There was found no place for them.

I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.

The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works.
- 14
Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

If anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.

Vi um anjo descendo do céu, o qual tinha a chave do abismo e uma grande corrente em sua mão.

Ele prendeu o dragão, a antiga serpente, que é o diabo e Satanás, aquele que engana toda a terra habitada, e o amarrou por mil anos,

e o lançou no abismo, e o fechou e o selou sobre ele, para que não enganasse mais as nações até que os mil anos se completassem. Depois disto, é necessário que ele seja solto por um pouco de tempo.

Vi tronos, e sentaram-se neles aqueles a quem foi dado o poder de julgar. Vi as almas daqueles que foram decapitados por causa do testemunho de Jesus e da palavra de Deus, e daqueles que não adoraram a besta nem a sua imagem, e não receberam a marca em suas testas nem em suas mãos. Eles viveram e reinaram com Cristo durante mil anos.

Os demais mortos não viveram até que os mil anos se completassem. Esta é a primeira ressurreição.

Bem-aventurado e santo é aquele que tem parte na primeira ressurreição. Sobre estes a segunda morte não tem autoridade, mas eles serão sacerdotes de Deus e de Cristo, e reinarão com ele por mil anos.

Quando se completarem os mil anos, Satanás será solto de sua prisão,
- 8
e sairá para enganar as nações que estão nos quatro cantos da terra, Gogue e Magogue, a fim de reuni-las para a guerra; o número delas é como a areia do mar.

Eles subiram pela largura da terra e cercaram o acampamento dos santos e a cidade amada. Mas desceu fogo do céu, da parte de Deus, e os devorou.

O diabo, que os enganava, foi lançado no lago de fogo e enxofre, onde também estão a besta e o falso profeta. E eles serão atormentados de dia e de noite, para todo o sempre.

Vi um grande trono branco e aquele que estava assentado nele, de cuja presença fugiram a terra e o céu. E não se achou lugar para eles.

Vi os mortos, grandes e pequenos, em pé diante do trono, e livros foram abertos. Outro livro foi aberto, que é o livro da vida. Os mortos foram julgados pelas coisas que estavam escritas nos livros, segundo as suas obras.

O mar entregou os mortos que nele havia. A Morte e o Hades entregaram os mortos que neles havia. E foram julgados, cada um segundo as suas obras.
- 14
A Morte e o Hades foram lançados no lago de fogo. Esta é a segunda morte, o lago de fogo.
- 15
Se o nome de alguém não foi achado escrito no livro da vida, esse foi lançado no lago de fogo.
