Salmos 5
Una oración matutina: dos veces dice el que ora que de mañana presenta sus peticiones al Señor y aguarda la respuesta (v.3). El salmo se apoya en un contraste agudo: Dios no se complace en la maldad ni puede hospedar el mal (vv.4-6), por eso el suplicante pide ser guiado por senda recta ante sus enemigos.

Está atento á la voz de mi clamor, Rey mío y Dios mío, porque á ti oraré.

Oh Jehová, de mañana oirás mi voz; de mañana me presentaré á ti, y esperaré.

Porque tú no eres un Dios que ame la maldad: el malo no habitará junto á ti.

No estarán los insensatos delante de tus ojos: aborreces á todos los que obran iniquidad.

Destruirás á los que hablan mentira: al hombre de sangres y de engaño abominará Jehová.

Y yo en la multitud de tu misericordia entraré en tu casa: adoraré hacia el templo de tu santidad en tu temor.

Guíame, Jehová, en tu justicia á causa de mis enemigos; endereza delante de mí tu camino.

Porque no hay en su boca rectitud: sus entrañas son pravedades; sepulcro abierto su garganta: con su lengua lisonjearán.

Desbarátalos, oh Dios; caigan de sus consejos: por la multitud de sus rebeliones échalos, porque se rebelaron contra ti.

Y alegrarse han todos los que en ti confían; para siempre darán voces de júbilo, porque tú los defiendes: y en ti se regocijarán los que aman tu nombre.

Porque tú, oh Jehová, bendecirás al justo; lo cercarás de benevolencia como con un escudo.

Listen to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for I pray to you.

LORD, in the morning you will hear my voice. In the morning I will lay my requests before you, and will watch expectantly.

For you are not a God who has pleasure in wickedness. Evil can’t live with you.

The arrogant will not stand in your sight. You hate all workers of iniquity.

You will destroy those who speak lies. The LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

But as for me, in the abundance of your loving kindness I will come into your house. I will bow toward your holy temple in reverence of you.

Lead me, LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies. Make your way straight before my face.

For there is no faithfulness in their mouth. Their heart is destruction. Their throat is an open tomb. They flatter with their tongue.

Hold them guilty, God. Let them fall by their own counsels. Thrust them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against you.

But let all those who take refuge in you rejoice. Let them always shout for joy, because you defend them. Let them also who love your name be joyful in you.

For you will bless the righteous. LORD, you will surround him with favor as with a shield.
Dos casas, dos finales
La estructura oscila entre dos grupos. Los engañadores tienen la garganta como sepulcro abierto y lisonjean con la lengua (v.9); el que ora, en cambio, entra en la casa de Dios y se inclina hacia el santo templo (v.7). Cierra pidiendo que los que se refugian en Dios griten de júbilo mientras los culpables caen por sus propios planes: juicio y amparo puestos uno junto al otro.
