Então Job respondeu,

“Sem dúvida, mas você é o povo, e a sabedoria morrerá com você.
- 3
Mas tenho compreensão, assim como você; Eu não sou inferior a você. Sim, quem não conhece coisas como estas?
- 4
Eu sou como alguém que é uma piada para seu vizinho, Eu, que invoquei a Deus, e ele respondeu. O justo, o homem sem culpa, é uma piada.
- 5
No pensamento daquele que está à vontade, há desprezo pelo infortúnio. Está pronto para aqueles cujos pés escorregam.
- 6
As tendas dos assaltantes prosperam. Aqueles que provocam a Deus estão seguros, que carregam seu deus em suas mãos.

“Mas pergunte agora aos animais, e eles lhe ensinarão; os pássaros do céu, e eles lhe dirão.
- 8
Ou fale com a Terra, e ela lhe ensinará. O peixe do mar lhe declarará.
- 9
que não sabe disso em tudo isso, A mão de Yahweh fez isso,
- 10
em cuja mão está a vida de cada ser vivo, e a respiração de toda a humanidade?
- 11
O ouvido não experimenta as palavras, mesmo quando o paladar saboreia seus alimentos?
- 12
Com homens idosos é sabedoria, em dias de compreensão.

“Com Deus é sabedoria e poder. Ele tem aconselhamento e compreensão.
- 14
Eis que ele se quebra, e não pode ser construído novamente. Ele prende um homem, e não pode haver libertação.
- 15
Eis que ele retém as águas, e elas secam. Mais uma vez, ele os envia e eles derrubam a terra.
- 16
Com ele está a força e a sabedoria. O enganado e o enganador são dele.
- 17
Ele leva os conselheiros para longe despojados. Ele faz os juízes de bobos.
- 18
Ele afrouxa o vínculo dos reis. Ele amarra a cintura deles com um cinto.
- 19
He leva os padres para longe despojados, e derruba os poderosos.
- 20
Ele remove o discurso daqueles que são de confiança, e retira a compreensão dos mais velhos.
- 21
Ele derrama desprezo sobre os príncipes, e afrouxa o cinto do forte.
- 22
Ele descobre coisas profundas a partir da escuridão, e traz à tona a sombra da morte.
- 23
He aumenta as nações, e ele as destrói. Ele amplia as nações, e as conduz em cativeiro.
- 24
Ele tira a compreensão dos chefes dos povos da terra, e os faz vaguear em um deserto onde não há como.
- 25
Eles tateiam no escuro sem luz. Ele os faz cambalear como um homem bêbado.

Then Job answered,
- 2
“No doubt, but you are the people, and wisdom will die with you.
- 3
But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Yes, who doesn’t know such things as these?
- 4
I am like one who is a joke to his neighbor, I, who called on God, and he answered. The just, the blameless man is a joke.

In the thought of him who is at ease there is contempt for misfortune. It is ready for them whose foot slips.
- 6
The tents of robbers prosper. Those who provoke God are secure, who carry their god in their hands.
- 7
“But ask the animals now, and they will teach you; the birds of the sky, and they will tell you.
- 8
Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you. The fish of the sea will declare to you.
- 9
Who doesn’t know that in all these, the LORD’s hand has done this,
- 10
in whose hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind?
- 11
Doesn’t the ear try words, even as the palate tastes its food?
- 12
With aged men is wisdom, in length of days understanding.
- 13
“With God is wisdom and might. He has counsel and understanding.
- 14
Behold, he breaks down, and it can’t be built again. He imprisons a man, and there can be no release.
- 15
Behold, he withholds the waters, and they dry up. Again, he sends them out, and they overturn the earth.
- 16
With him is strength and wisdom. The deceived and the deceiver are his.
- 17
He leads counselors away stripped. He makes judges fools.
- 18
He loosens the bond of kings. He binds their waist with a belt.
- 19
He leads priests away stripped, and overthrows the mighty.
- 20
He removes the speech of those who are trusted, and takes away the understanding of the elders.
- 21
He pours contempt on princes, and loosens the belt of the strong.
- 22
He uncovers deep things out of darkness, and brings out to light the shadow of death.
- 23
He increases the nations, and he destroys them. He enlarges the nations, and he leads them captive.
- 24
He takes away understanding from the chiefs of the people of the earth, and causes them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.
- 25
They grope in the dark without light. He makes them stagger like a drunken man.
